Solution for covid 19

When Wuhan had their outbreak, the rest of the world should've self quarantine. The airports should've cancelled flights as well. This method would've been the smartest way to deal with this virus. But NOPE! Too many idiots in this world who didn't see and took advantage of the opportunity at hand.

This method would've been amazing if it wasn't for the Australian fire.

I agree, but it's easy to say that now with hindsight. There have been several outbreaks before that didn't spread too much, we didn't have to go into lockdown for them, so people thought this would just be another case like that.

It’s always easy to work out the solution after the event when all the facts come to light you fucking numb scull. It’s a bit like saying someone should have killed hitler before he rose to power, that way we could have avoided world war 2 and all those innocent people dying

Hitlers story his fascinating. Hos rise to power was a juggling act. It's kind of like that game were you make plagues. You can easily infect the entire planet before they realise what's happening. Sure if they had the hindsight we have now they'd easily stop you but nope that's not how shit works like this movie I'm watching outbreak. 10/10 reccomend

American bankers financed Hitler's rise to power with full knowledge of what he was about to do so...

Outside of the argument this is all intentional that's not really a great comparison.

I'm not a troll! I honestly think that if we all self quarantined ourselves when Wuhan had their outbreak, this would've been resolved.

People often think "this isn't a big deal" until it actually is a big deal!
Someone like myself, would take care of it as soon as possible.

The only big deal about it is our response to it. It affects less than .0001% of the population and MAYBE 4 percent of them die. That's not an opinion that is the numbers.

Our response has been retarded. It is way more dangerous than the disease and I have said that from the beginning.

Use your brain and look at the actual facts.

The conflicting information and constant repetitive media coverage is fueling the panic. This seems like a textbook destabilization and confusion tactic.

I'm not saying there's no virus, then again similar to nuclear weapons or basically any doomsday weapon, an actual deadly disease isn't necessary to create fear. All people need to do is believe it exists, and they'll be afraid of it. I haven't really been following the whole thing, but it really wouldnt be hard to fake a crisis by picking some really sick people who are dying and claiming they all have some new super dangerous virus that came out of nowhere.

I saw that video a few days ago, and it made the reality of what's going on hit home for me, not least because I lived in Italy for several years.

I've also seen video of Italian healthcare workers being interviewed with friction and pressure sores on their faces because of how they've had to wear protective masks constantly on every shift for weeks on end. Truly shocking stuff.

Unfortunately, while the media in the UK has had no shortage of medical people talking to camera, I've seen nothing similar from inside UK hospitals showing the reality of what's going on here. I suppose that's because the authorities think it would be tasteless or an invasion of privacy, but I suspect videos like that might possibly make at least a few idiots wake up.

Post a video of sick people in a hospital. checkmate.

This shit is real. Ive been home listening to shortwave all day, got a couple BBC transmissions about how cops in england are allowing use of parks for excersize but are authorized to disperse crowds of 2 or more people. That's real too. Whole thing seems a little big-brothery.

I saw a lot of chem planes flying yesterday. Way more than normal in my area. Flights are supposed to be shut down. Even if these are just normal regular planes it would be suspicious to notice more than normal when any non-essential flights are supposed to be flying. These are bunches of planes leaving persisting trails. Or you can stay in your house and watch videos with no context scaring yourself.

We cant be turning off major supply lines at the first sign of a disease. The world has a metric ton of diseases and viruses. Covid 19 is like the influenza in its death rates (the most deadly virus in human history) but it spreads a hell of a lot faster. The world is just trying to slow down the spread rather than try to outright eliminate it (gonna take a few months on that front) if we can funnel the spread that should help the internal supply lines. Pandemics come every century, we just dont get the heads up which illness in a giant catalog of illnesses will it be. At least it isnt as damaging as smallpox or polio. The worst cases has some lung damage but that is in the people who were already at risk.

Yeah. People who were on vacation in China shouldn't have been allowed back to their home countries imo. They should've been quaratined there. Tough shit for them but if you travel you best be prepared for anything. Some people aren't allowed back who is in foreign countries now and they keep whining about it to the news like some dumb weak pussies, even the ones who actually had the audacity to travel DURING the outbreak when it was well known how fast it was spreading. I say good riddance if those people pass on. Natural selection at its finest.

As others have said, this is being wise after the event. However, there's been no shortage of experts warning for years that something like what we're currently seeing has been a possibility.

It's probably naïve of me, but I would hope that the current mess means that governments around the world will give more attention to the threats posed by pandemics, spend some time thinking about what went wrong this time and invest money in trying to make sure that their populations are better protected and the medical infrastructure is better prepared in future.

Given the economic and political realities of the world, I suppose that's unlikely, and the next time a global pandemic hits, everyone will just muddle along in a similar fashion to what we see now. Indeed, it seems possible that China, having failed to learn the lessons of SARS, is already choosing to ignore the reality of what's going on right now with COVID-19. They're _claiming_ that the only new infections they're seeing now are with people coming in to the country from abroad, but epidemiologists are highly sceptical that the virus has been miraculously eliminated in just a few weeks. It's far more likely that the word has come down from on-high that the problem has been solved and the country can get back to work, so new cases are being swept under the carpet, just as they did with SARS.

For all the disruption COVID-19 has caused, it could have been very much worse. Somewhere out there in a population of bats or other animals that people haven't messed with much so far, there's very likely a virus that is just as highly infectious as COVID-19 but far more lethal.

They did not know the lethality of the virus then.

The official advice is that the virus probably remains viable on hard surfaces for no more than a few days after being deposited.

If you want to be uber-cautious, maybe you could scoop it up in a rubbish bag and leave it sitting for a couple of weeks, by which time anything on the parcel should no longer be a danger. Alternatively, if you want to open it, then rubber gloves and bleach would probably eliminate whatever small chance of infection there might be.

Most viruses outside of living host organisms are really pretty fragile (unlike some bacteria), and most don't remain viable for long once they're exposed to things like UV light and drying out.

I had swine flu, polio, type 1 and 2 diabetes, coronavirus, mad cow, small pox, ebola, food poisoning, all three hepatitis's, gingivitis, cellulitis, arthritis, meningitis, Zika, MRSA, herpes, colon cancer, syphilis, measles, mesothelioma, ulcerative colitis, acid indigestion, dislocated shoulder, AND a boo-boo on my poor pinky toe, all at the same time.

The only thing I didn't have was health insurance and that is because the Y2K bug wiped out all my medical/insurance records.

    I turned out just fine.
