Weed just made me depressed. I might feel happy but the truth was that I was truely unhappy when I was high.

After quitting I felt better, as well as my reaction time in general went back to normal. As I felt cognitively slower after my 420/everyday binge.

Weed makes you content. Content with my current situation will never be a satisfying experience.

Long term weed use causes a kind of cognitive impairment that impairs the persons ability to recognise their cognitive impairment. It’s as hilarious as countless people telling me it’s good for their anxiety, completely oblivious to the fact that it’s the continuing cause of it.

I have plenty of experience with every drug under the sun. I can tell you with certainty that weed is fine on occasion, but total garbage to smoke constantly.

If I could smoke weed I would. Not in binges like i used to but maybe every other weekend, I'm not much of a drinker anyway.

That being said cognitively I was slower days afterwards. Ive been completely sober for months and I noticed that there was a dip in my over all reaction time, could only see it after I went sober though.

Exactly, way more noticeable when sober for a long enough period.

Once you adjust to a drug the brain seems to take the level of adjustment as though it’s normal, when it’s anything but.

It should yes but it also depends when you started it. If you started as a kid that probably could change your development in many ways. But if you are worried about your brain try a choline supplement. It makes a huge difference. It helps me put words together easier.

The wording of this question is confusing. It sounds like you're saying the idea of cognitive impairment from smoking weed being permanent should entice people to NOT quit

they say smoking weed causes permanent cognitive failure. so if you have smoked weed and your already permanently damaged, what the advantage of quiting? (it's not permanent!). I am trying to make a point.

You quit to limit the damage to where you are currently at, and not make it worse which continuing to use "weed" will do.

There are a varity of other known drugs or health effects that can permanently damage/impair mental capabilities. Sleep Apnea is a common one... and using PAP therapy properly usually ends the degradation.

Oh, gotcha. If that's the case, the only reason that would make sense to quit is if the damage was compounding, meaning that any damage that's done is permanent and each time you smoke you're doing more damage that can't be undone. I doubt that's the case though
