Do women just enter the bathroom and launch themselves ass-first toward the toilet without taking a single goddamn second to actually look where you're sitting? If guys have to lower the seat because you're too lazy to keep your eyes open before sitting, then women should have to raise the seat when THEY'RE done peeing
I think both genders should put the toilet lid down after they're done. I just find it kind of gross not to, even if there's likely not a significant difference. If it's your house though, do what you want! In my house, I like the lids down.
Otherwise, it doesn't require a great amount of effort to lift or put down the toilet seat, nor does it require a great amount of effort to lift the lid, so my vote would be to put the lid down, regardless of gender.
The default position of any toilet when not in use should be with both seats seats down. If both seats are down then no one can accidentally drop things in the toilet. Besides, leaving the toilet seat up is bad feng shui.
Also, it's a total dealbreaker for me when someone does that nasty, "if it's yellow let it mellow", thing. If some dude can't be bothered to flush the toilet, or put the toilet seat down it's just totally not worth putting up with the inconvenience just to have male company/companionship. If someone grosses me out I really dont care about being more than their casual platonic friend, nor do I care if they feel indignant, or offended about my opinions.
The reason people continue to have nasty, and unsanitary habits is because others continue to tolerate it. My dad is an 85 year old veteran with a messed up back from parachute jumping, and yet he always puts the seats down. It's not that difficult to be decent.
No. If you try to figure out the reason why men should apparently do this, it'll lead to one of two conclusions: (1) Women are inherently better than men and so deserve special treatment, or (2) women are less capable than men and so men need to give them a little extra help with certain things. Both of these are ridiculous, men and women are equal. It's little things like this that only serve to separate the sexes, that lead us to believe deep down that we're not all equal, that one sex is superior to the other.
