Should kids be allowed to hear cursing?

I usually try to keep it clean but There are a few times I've accidently cursed in public(tripping on a spill at a store, almost getting into a car accident while driving, an ATM not giving me my money, etc). Each time there was always someone that would say: watch your language there are kids here." I'm pretty sure those scolders would spew out a dirty word if the same shit happened to them. I feel like kids shouldn't be kept away from stuff like that. At the end of the day, they're just words.

It happens sometimes. Ideally, people try to keep it away from them, otherwise the little fuckers go into parrot mode...

But for someone to get all high and mighty about swearing in that context vs conversational swearing that is loud enough to attract other people's attention? They're just being precious.

It's not much of a big deal for them if it's not much of a big deal for you. They usually don't even know what it means. My stepdad was always cursing even before I was ten, haha.

I too find it annoying when people tell me to watch my language.

they're just words, but they are words that connote negative meanings, and letting children use them irresponsibly will also end up affecting those around you

They are just words- but I will say that I would be careful about it. I grew up with my mom swearing around me a lot and now I don't have a great filter- I'm still pretty young though, and I am working on it. So while it isn't a huge deal- I will say that I think it is better if you stay selective about it, like it sounds like you do, if that makes sense? Just my opinion

It's weird how swear words have become so much a part of every day vernacular that it's weard not to hear it. Do I think 4 and 5 yearolds should be saying Fuck? No.

Kids do it all the time. The girl who said cash me outside does it. My niece who is 4 says fuck you bitch and I cussed at the age 1. My mom said I called her a bitch because she wouldn't give me a cookie.

Yeah most adults tried to keep cursing away from the kiddies when I was a kid. I don't see why people are annoyed by cursing. Yeah Theyre just words and they only have power if someone let's it have power.
