Rate my gyms taste of music

Whenever I go to my local gym I hear these songs commonly play when I go to workout:

Voulez Vous- ABBA
Sweet Child O' Mine- Guns N' Roses
Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
In The End - Linkin Park
Closer - Ne-Yo
Master Of Puppets - Metallica
Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley

These are the songs that I hear a lot when working out I think they're cool but I want to know what you think of my local gyms taste of music.

It's ok 9
It sucks 9
It's awesome 8
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I don’t think they should play any music at gyms. Peoples’ tastes are so different. The gym I went to broadcasted many stations on wifi and you just tuned in with your headphones.

I came here pre-judging. Left surprised.

I was so ready to just say from the title that all gym music is shocking, but I will eat humble pie as that is a pretty cool list.

Metallica is the best one on that list.

Meh, it's better than the overly processed modern pop/rap/hip-hop stuff they play on my city's main radio station that a lot of the local places play, but not really my thing.

Let me just say Sweet Child O' Mine and Livin' On A Prayer are two of the most overplayed songs ever, and I would definitely get sick of hearing them all the time in the gym! Same with Rick Astley, as I heard that plenty during the Rick Roll days! 🤣 I also heard In The End a lot when it came out.

I think I'd rather hear some Duran Duran, or Lady Gaga.

Why would you hear In The End when hitting the gym? It's a rather depressing song.

It fits the fact that hitting gym is depressing and that soon everyone will give up on their new years resolution and stay at home in the sofa all year and eat potato chips.

Think it has more to do with the rhythm of the song, and Mike Shinoda's rap skills. It's like the perfect beat for bicep curls/leg press/sit ups.

I guess I can't blame them for playing that song.
