Progressive tax?

Fuck that how about a REgressive tax? The more money you make the less you pay in taxes. We will solve homelessness. Your incentive to work is not starving to death. Imagine all the overtime hours young people would work just so they could move up a bracket. We would smash China in a single year with our productivity. All the welfare leaches would be working 60 hour weeks so they can pay under 20%.

It will actually equal out fairer to the amount you pay to the state. Because low earning people contribute less to taxes as it is. The top 1% right now pays over 40% of the countries taxes. While some able bodied young people dont work and play video games, get welfare, and not contribute anything to society. This will be good for the youth to make them tougher.

Yeah, because the main thing stopping people from being rich is not being motivated enough...

Why the hell is it an upside to work 60 hours a week, and why do you think that's related to national productivity? Most rich people aren't working nearly that often. All this would do is raise suicide rates.

    • 100% yes the main thing stopping people from being rich (atleast in my country) is not being motivated enough. I dont know how you could argue thats not that case with a straight face.

I totally disagree. The reason most people in America do not get rich is that they have been taught to get a good education, get a good job (as if those even exist anymore), and spend their money on consumer items and instant pleasure.

Very few people are taught to think and act like millionaires. When people are taught that (and are willing to learn it)... the tend to significantly increase their incomes and some become totally financially free.

I'm part of a mentor organization that teaches real "financial intelligence" which comes from the millionaires and above. I've watched so many people totally change their lives from that system.

Hard work is often required at least initially. But, hard work by itself does not guarantee any kind of financial success in life.

I argue it in a pretty straightforward way. I start by asking two questions:
        1. Are you rich?
        2. How did you get rich?
Then I calmly explain how that's not a universal solution.
There's also the thing where the economy isn't set up to allow everyone to be rich, since businesses would just raise their prices, high paying jobs have a limited number of positions, low-paying jobs have a limited number of hours of work that needs to be done, and entrepreneurship becomes more difficult with more competitors.

If you want to go, we can go.

This would likely result in a surge of crime and suicide. At best, this would bring a revolution. At worst, you get Chinese branded communism.

    • I doubt it . In Germany and Sweden they have sky high taxes on the middle class if you make 100k after income tax and sales tax they rob you for 70% of the money. No revolution in sight. They punish the people who work hard and reward the leaches.

I propose dropping everyone who is on welfare for longer than 6 months without a good reason. Everyone can work. If you don't wanna work, go live in the woods or starve yourself until you want to work

    No work, no bread.

    My simple philosophy.

Both methods are wrong. Flat taxes are the best.

I agree as well as having flat % fees for violations. Make a million every year and park in disabled parking? 50k parking ticket.

That's not flat at all. That's about ten times the (on my estimation) average price relative to the total amount earned of a disabled parking ticket where I am.
