No, since it is not covered on both sides by bread. Pizza is in the same category as bread with a spreading on it, that is "bread with toppings". It is only a sandwich if it is encompassed on both sides by bread.

To respond to Bassmachine's objection, yes, folding it in half does make it a sandwich, but it is not a sandwich by default.

Pizza is not a sandwich because there needs to be 2 pieces of bread. Also i just ate ribs and when i heard the words pizza and sandwich together i almost threw up

no it's not, sandwiches are a filling between 2 pieces of bread, since when is pizza a filling between 2 pieces of bread... It is dough with a topping on top of it it is not between 2 pieces...
