Pasta sauce left out in heat, jar is cloudy?

Hello, I eat a lot of spaghetti. This means that I also use spaghetti sauce. I haven't been refrigerating the sauce in-between uses. I say this because I opened it up the past two days and it is cloudy in the jar when I open it. It also makes a suction cup sound when I twist the cap off. It has also gotten hotter lately, which would mean it is warmer in my apartment. Is this normal?

In case it matters, it is garlic and Parmesan Prego.

  • Don’t eat it. There is a reason there is a giant label on some food that says “refrigerate after opening”. That sucking noise is from gases given off from bacteria growing in that petri jar that used to be sauce.

    • Gotcha. Makes sense. I can deal with that. Just wanted to make sure that that's all that happened. I assume the heat has amplified it as I don't use the AC much

      • Mold and bacteria love a warm environment, like room temperature.
