My bf wants to be in a relationship with me and another girl

My bf never told me that he wanted another girl at the same time. He wanted me and this girl and him to be like a family. I actually needed space from him everything has change since he told me. He was trying to convince me about the idea. Should I leave him or stay with him? Is it a good or bad idea? I don't want to share my man so I don't wanna girl in the relationship!

The only detail missing in your post is what YOU want.

  • The monogamy bias is palpable here.

If you're open to trying something new, then do it. If you're not, then don't. It's simple.

Bottom line, take care of you.

    Depends. What do you want?

Polyamourism is a thing and he may be someone who is so inclined, however he may just want to fuck two girls. How would he feel about you and the other woman having sex together without him and without providing details? Many people claim to be polyamouras but very few can actually handle it.

I have only ever met one person who didn't become jealous.

    • How many poly people in active relationships have you known personally?

I'm poly, and I promise you, there are A LOT of people in the world emotionally secure and mature enough to successfully navigate these types of relationships. Most just avoid proselytizing about it, unlike the way we're all indoctrinated into monogamy.

I only know my personal experience with it. Out of several women who claimed they were poly, only one didn't get jealous.

        Including current relationships.

        • Thanks for clarifying.

Polyamory is definitely not for everyone, and I blame religious brainwashing beginning in early childhood, and Disney indoctrination teaching us about "the one." Of course most people trained thus will be ill-equipped to be other.

We're taught to view relationships with the eyes of ownership, suspicious of outliers. From my perspective, it's a damn shame. The divorce rate would likely go down dramatically if people would learn to open their minds and hearts to the possibilities.

I don't fault that stuff. Insecurity and jealousy are pretty innate human emotions.

            • Not as much as you think. Much of that is learned behavior.

Well, what do you want? It's very hard to advise you if we don't know how you feel about all of this business. We won't be able to adequately judge the situation or form any solid opinions without knowing how you feel. You're feelings about the situation are the most important detail!

Don't get involved with or do anything you don't want to do that goes against your own morals.

Why don't you ask about him and another guy with you instead? That would be a good question to ask. I don't believe in or support polyamory, and I certainly don't believe in polygamy which is why I think you ought to ask about Polyandry. Lots of men who claim to want free love and polyamory actually only support it if it's them and two women, but not their female partner and two men.

My personal opinion is that I don't like sharing. It's not for me. It's a major turn off to hear a guy just tell me that he would be open to that sort of thing. I remember I was dating this one guy who was a school teacher, and always came off as this very proper, clean cut sort of guy. Well, we used to have really great sex so we decided to do some Ecstasy together. He told me right out of the blue that he would be open to an open marriage, talk about a fucking buzzkill! It made my stomach turn! His statement coupled with the fact that he wasn't an animal person like me let me know at that very moment that he wasn't the right one for me, and he would never be anything more than a good lay.

More than anything this needs to be about what you want!
