My accent gets thicker

I just realised when I talk to people from a different area my accent gets weaker. And then someone from my area starts a conversation with me and my accent gets much thicker. Ive never noticed this until recently and I don't like it. Is this normal?

I've noticed this with myself as well! If I'm around someone for long enough, I start to pick up on the way they talk more, from the different words and sayings they use, to my accent getting weaker (if theirs isn't the same as mine).

I talk differently often. Sometimes it’s just certain words I say in a particular way. Dunno. Can’t help it. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yeah normal usually accents are strongest when you're with people who have the same accent as you

My text speak is so different from my normal speak, which varies per person. If im talking to someone not from a native english home, i try to use better grammar to better impress the rules of English in every day conversation. Otherwise Im making up words left and right just for shits n giggles.
