Meaningless

Life has no meaning. You're born, then you die, and life goes on as usual. You're just another rotting corpse. Nothing has been lost. All of your memories, friends, family, and experiences will fade into obscurity. History. Nothing more. Everything you experienced won't matter in the end.

          It's that unbearable for you?

We all would probably be better off if you didn't make stupid religious comments and act like such a know it all, but you still do it, right? I would probably be better off if you didn't reply to me, but you still did it. If you don't like what I said, just scroll.

You didn't make it obvious and you can't always detect sarcasm on the internet. Ignore my reply.

Meaning is totally subjective, your life only has as much meaning as you prescribe to it.

Nobody. Nobody even acknowledges how meaningless life is. Most think life has any meaning, which could not be further from the truth. And nobody should care.

      Uh, congratulations?

And I'm telling you that most people don't. No, I am not unique or special. Shall we keep stating the obvious?

"Yes, you are trying to be be edgy, the way you type is evidence of that. This is why most people here are mocking you because they recognize it. If you don't want to take the advice that's on you."

This isn't really an "edgy" topic. Real cute, goose. They're free to do as they please. Your point...?

Like I said, nobody here is interested in impressing you, Goose. Why are you so keen on convincing yourself people want to make themselves appeal to you? Are you that stuck-up?

Though I have never seen any posts like this, I recognize that posts like this have been before.

Big lie. Most people try to say life has meaning or waste their time trying to find the meaning, when there is no meaning at all.

Who said I thought I had something to gain?

Ah, there it goes. "You're just being edgy." "You're just trying to be quirky." "You're just trying to be interesting" blah blah blah. Enough with the stupidity already. Nobody is here to impress you, saddlegoose. Coming off as interesting to a bunch of internet strangers has no impact. Next.

That’s almost a quote from the Bible. Ecclesiastes 1: 2-11
    Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
    “Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”
3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,
    but the earth remains forever.
5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
6 The wind blows to the south
    and turns to the north;
    round and round it goes,
    ever returning on its course.
7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
    there they return again.
    8 All things are wearisome,
    more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
    “Look! This is something new”?
    It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
    will not be remembered
    by those who follow them.

Your responses indicate that you are a typical know-it-all. It's not necessary to deny it.

Clearly, you're trying to impress others if you want them to think you know everything. Why does it matter whether you impress a bunch of strangers on the internet? What is so important about whether or not you come off as appealing to users on a site? You may always produce your own post on a topic that demands investigation if you want to come across as someone who knows a lot ;)

Good for you. I never mentioned who was smarter or more liked. The way you argue with me about this demonstrates that you are, once again, a know-it-all who thinks they know more than they do. You're attempting to convince everyone that you're extremely knowledgeable. To gain public adoration as someone who is always correct. You certainly seem to like the idea of being right. The general public is uninterested in anyone. I liked the idea of not being bored.

You are an egotist, and it's obvious.

  • Unusuallynormal217

But if it matters that much to you, you say it.

You need to stop acting like a know it all, you haven't said anything that proves you're smart and know everything.

Obviously you're trying to impress people by making them think you know more than you do. Well, you're in for a rude awakening. Know it all's don't appeal to others either. Just makes you seem insufferable. I'll offer the same advice you offered me. Try to find realistic ways to impress people (more like make them pretend to be impressed) :)

Oh well, Think what you want.

Okay, if that's what you want to believe.😆

"I'd also just have to make this clear. Don't make the mistake of thinking you're the smartest guy in the room here. Humble yourself."

Yeah, but I'm still going to have fun. At least I'll try to have as much as I possibly can while I here.

Although if you want more philosophical answers the "meaning" or "purpose" of life is either to serve some sort of higher power or to reproduce. It just depends on whether or not you're religious.

You can either argue that the point of life is to be devoted to whatever religion you subscribe to, if any...

...or you can argue that the point of human existence is the exact same as any other life. Plants, fungi, animals, bacteria; they all have the same general goal. Humans are just one of the few creatures with enough sentience to consciously enjoy (or hate) the experience.

Right, but it takes too much effort to lay there and die. You get hungry then your body starts fighting and you get anxious. Dying is a pain in the ass. Better to live a long miserable life with minimal effort and nothing to look forward to.

I think that everyone has the opportunity to make their own life meaningful and to be content. I personally think that the choices we make to try to be happy are what life is about. To be truly happy, and that is enough. If your choices don't make you happy, maybe think about changing them.
