Mb sleep mode issues?

I have an early 2015 macbook 12”.

I got it last year, still feels and works like a new except the sleep mode.
It was used rarely by one of my relatives earlier so nothing extreme work.

I did everything I found on sites like smc clean, restart etc. Latest mojave and everything that’s once written on forums.
Brightness is always 50%, no bluetooth, energy saving options checked and done.

I read that in sleep mode, macbooks loose around 3-4% / 2 days while not used.
In my case, I loose around 4% / hour.

Can someone help, how could I fix the sleep mode?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • If I was in your spot I would order a new battery replacement. It’s obviously not getting enough power and either you have a lot of stuff open draining the battery life or your battery or maybe the connector isn’t putting out enough for it to work correctly. I got to order a battery replacement for my iphone 6 soon because it keeps shutting off from low battery connection and drains a lot. Lil fucker takes hours to turn on sometimes but I still love apple.

Kinda like how a boot loop is a indication of a lack of communication/ connection somewhere typically the battery. Either software or hardware but if these ways of restoring or reupdating your laptop doesn’t work it may just be linked to a hardware issue. Have you tried a recovery mode type shit to completely swipe out this computer to factory settings and reupdating everything? Have some good wifi and make sure your laptop doesn’t die while doing this or else it’ll cause some problems. If factory reset and new updating truly doesn’t work def get a new battery. Replacements tend to be pretty inexpensive and easy to do yourself and make a big difference.

Over time battery’s won’t be the best, they don’t last forever. My boyfriend and I both have iphone 6’s but his battery is still going pretty good while mines not so much. It doesn’t always depend on others. Ik apple lacks great batteries but a simple like $20 battery with the kit can fix mine to running better. I’ll probably get another few hours out of my day of use with this new future battery, meaning not having to leave it plugged in so much.

Thanks for your ideas, I also have an iphone 6s plus and I replaced the battery last year so now it lasts like 3 times longer now.

A full factory reupdate is the last chance because I only have 1-2 windows open at the same time. Never more.

Can't you just turn it off?

I do that because nothing else left, just don’t think it is good for the hardware to switch on/off like 2-3 times a day in long term..

      • Ok, didn't think you tried nvram reset thing. By memory I think it helped me with a similar issue.

Im assuming its a general apple product scam where the battery is gonna drain over lack of care over time?

Friends of mine sad that their macbooks battery still fine after 3-4 or more years using it daily.

I also read that mojave upgrade made this issue for several other users as well.
