Marriying a fuck buddy

What do you think about a boy and a girl meeting very young and all through grade school they were best friends. Then when they got old enough they started to hook up but just for fun. Kind of semi dated by age 18 but both were still messing with other people. Until eventually one day they were both in need of a roomate so they moved in together. Then from then on they just took the role and husband and wife naturally just from the living situation, but did not even realise it was happening. Then they didnt like to see eachother mess with other people because it was too easy to see living with eachother. They just naturally became family without any planning to do so just based on convenience. Both parties combined their money without splitting it. Eventually officially got married to eachother.

They were best friends that were there to help eachother out and were a team and one day just woke up and realised they were actually basically in a marriage without ever even realising it.

It sounds like you guys are best friends and enjoy eachother company? Why label fuck buddy? Why rush to marriage though?

    • Because of legal and tax benefits we finally made it official. But we realised we were already basically living a married life with eachother anyway.

The tipping point for me is when she had an emergency and had to go into emergency surgery the hospital was not giving me any say in anything because I was just a boyfriend and hippa made it to where I couldnt see her or get updates. Her crazy mother who she actually hates was taking over everything and trying to do things she didnt want like keep her MRI scan photos and steal them (shes crazy). Also we would save quite abit of money on our taxes.

That actually makes a bunch of sense. I can relate.

You should definitely pitch this to Pixar/Disney! I'll be waiting for the "Accidentally Married" movie with a way cooler title.

    • "Accidentally married" that is true. It does feel that it happened that way.

Also I dont know why I wrote this in third person.

I feel like they lack passion and that they never really tried to look for someone else elsewhere

If this is a real story congratulations, you were the one in a million for whom living with your FWB didn’t get messy.

If this is your fantasy though I wouldn’t bank on it happening and merging your finances with someone can be dangerous.

    • We have been married for about 7 years now it works fine. When we merged our finances we were both poor as hell so it wasnt much money. We struggled with the bills so we just naturally put the money in one big pot.

Then congratulations to you and your spouse on beating the odds.

I’ve heard so many horror stories of people having joined accounts drained when a relationship sours that I always advise people to keep their money as secure as possible, but I’m glad it didn’t go that way for you.

        • Yes, I could see where that could be a problem. But after bills we would be lucky to even have 20 dollars left over and have to use that for food for an entire week. I believe that helped us avoid that as well its not like we had any money to steal from each other lol.
