Yes. Start now, because you'll be able to retire in your Early to late 40's depending on how many days you take off within your career. It has a lot of benefits, and you wont have to worry about heath insurance.
I have so much to say about it, but to keep it short, just go for it. It's hard work at first, and the supervisors will push you, but it's worth it.
from what i understand it's a good job, especially with the benefits. Though you may have trouble getting the job right now since Trump is putting a hiring freeze on all non-defense federal jobs
Do it! You get good benefits from that, though you'd wind up having to put up with the cold if you have winter wherever you live.
