It it normal to want a little sister when you have two older brothers?

I have two older brothers and we don’t really have a great relationship with each other. I have friends that have little sisters and they talk about how much they get along and love each other. Basically I want a younger sister to try to be a better brother than my brothers were to me. I want a sister specifically because of my pretty bad relationship with my brothers, the fact that I seem to get along better with girls than I do with guys, and my wanting for someone I can pass the things I like down to and introduce cool stuff to (I’m not ready for a real kid yet). I also should probably clarify that I’m a guy.

    Brothers can indeed be dicks.

    But as someone who has five younger sisters, I know that sisters can be assholes too.

    Imagining and wishing for an ideal sibling you can have a wonderful relationship with is pretty common when you're a kid, but we all have to make the best of the families we're born into.

    Maybe your brothers are utter, irredeemable asshats who will remain like that forever and it will never be possible for you to have a positive relationship with them, but people do change at least a little as they grow up, and it's not unknown for siblings who hated each other as kids to become close as adults.

    Totally normal to want to have a sibling of the opposite sex.

    Unfortunately, its not your choice.

    Next best thing is to find a nice male friend who has sister(s). Spend a lot of time with both of them or with their family.
