Isitnormal.com feels like old school internet

im not even old but it doesn't feel all buzzy and like it moves too quickly with trends. People here are from all different ages, countries, opinions and life choices, there isn't much cancelling, people aren't fake or very narcissistic, and it just has an interesting and natural feeling

I got told off for using “gendered language” on there, if someone’s being a fuckboy, manchild or bitch I will call them as such. Gender isn’t inherently bad.

I also got downvoted on a post called “My boyfriend won’t use an umbrella because he thinks it’s gay”, I told her using an umbrella is the opposite of gay as you never know when it’s gonna start raining men.

      • What?!!! That's so weird! Idk why they're so petty but the mods on subreddits definitely let the power go to their heads. I got shadowbanned too and i never insulted anyone!

That's why I tend to only use Reddit for gaming subreddits

    • Ugh i know, and i hold different opinions to most on this site, but i don't want to be 'shielded' from them, i like our autonomy, and the ability to actually argue, whereas on reddit there are way too many rules, like they're trying to run a kindergarten :(

I think it's just ridiculous at Reddit.

Reddit won't allow me to comment on a subreddit called Chonks, which is dedicated to pictures of overweight cats, without screening my comments every single time, because according to them I don't have enough Karma. I asked them how much Karma I need to post a comment directly without it being screened, but they said they couldn't tell me, because they don't want the trolls to know how much Karma is necessary. What a bunch of paranoid weirdos!

        • Weirdos exactly. Feels like that weird neighbour saying 'get out the street kids!', and it's like one big popularity contest. The mods there need to get their heads out their butts

You haven't seen how people act on classic car forums... It's a lot worse.

Oh for the sake of fuck, the way people act on a lot of car forums makes big social media look mature and grown up.

Ohh like on honda forums where they think their four cylinder civics are pushing 400 horses.

Or one time on a Pontiac grand prix forum where every other post was "Your mom is a fag!"

        Then the usual Trumptards.

        Dude it's fuckin hilarious.

theres no reason you couldnt modify a civic to make 400 horsepower

but unless you spend a fortune to build the motor and driveline and tune it right it aint gonna last long

and frankly 400hp outta less than 2 liters aint gonna last long no matter what

Ehh let them dream I suppose.
I own a civic and I can say - they aren't going to win any races.

Funny though that Corolla owners do not have the same mentality.
I mean Corolla is basically the Toyota version of a Civic.

Most of the people I knew with Civics in my town would get older models and illegally modify them so that they'd go faster and make loud, obnoxious noises. Whenever anyone heard a loud car speeding around the streets multiple times at like 2AM, we knew it was a Civic.

I really didn't get the point of making a car sound so loud. Is it to get noticed? Why bring so much attention to oneself?

theres no corolla sport model of note

there have been several sport racin civic models

              toyota offered the supra instead

and far as im concerned theres no more fun kinda car to stuff 500hp into than a beat up stock lookin corolla

I'm sure opinionated people behave like jerks on all internet forums.

I've seen flame wars on beekeeping forums, with people being triggered to outrage over the most trivial stuff.

A lot of it is down to the anonymity of the internet and people feeling free to behave in ways they never would in real life. I've often wondered what the internet would be like today if everyone had been required to use their true identity from the start.

Yanno. Although anonymity brings the worst out in most people, it brings the best out in others. Consider the fucked up things that I say while in a splashy and vibrant mood, acting just barely mature enough to convey comfortable "A level" competence on any material I am referencing for perspective.

Honestly, years of high price consulting can reduce you to robotic diplomacy that avoids offending narcissists, sociopaths, and a whole laundry list of other personality disorders.
For years, I longed to creatively wordsmith ways to tell the world to get fucked. And now that my dream has been realized, I have found that I greatly admire others that are even better at it than I am.

Weird user names and a lack of censorship, self promotion and non-sensical PC pandering (eg “folkx” instead of folks) cesspit as it is IIN is a breath of fresh air. Like a far less cancerous 4chan.

My one complaint is the absence of profile pictures, I miss mine.

I really like the fact that it hasn't changed much. I remember when I discovered the site some 9 years ago or more the internet here was not great and yet I could easily use this site which made me love it even more.
Sometimes it gets really ugly here and I've received my load of insults because of my skin colour. Yeah, there was a time when you could upload a profile picture too.
But I also met some very intelligent and interesting people.

I miss the old internet forums.
Nowadays there aren't any fun forums there's pretty much just dating websites and Discord.

In my home country there's some lame TV dating show where random guys get to meet their pick's friends and family (three members,) on a sort of pre-date session while the guy's pick is allowed to watch the arranged meet-up on a 'secret' camera.

Now, there was this one episode where the guy's English accent was dominated by a vanacular pronouciation of English words. The woman who he was supposed to finally meet on a date with turned down the date on grounds of his English accent, yet, her pronoucement of English words was far worse than that of her chosen pre-date 'crew'.

I think that currently more than ever, more and more people are dating for all the wrong reasons.. having kids and raising them in a fucked up world among those reasons.

I am a regular on another forum that you might argue is a smaller version of reddit.
Narcissism, people blocking each other and arguing left and right, fake, trends change daily, non-stop bitching about politics...
Basically a non-dating version of meetme.

The only minor drawback of this one is the notification system goes down frequently. Except a couple pricks, I enjoy things here.

I agree with you, babe. This place is a zoo of diversity, colorful opinions, outrageous viewpoints, and the most unusual kooks on the Internet. Plus, everyone thrives on things they would never tell their mother.

And so I say to the poor of heart, come to IIN and cut loose. Life is a party.
