Is this a sexual assault?

When I was 6, I went to the doctor's and she forced me to undergo a visual genital exam. She had two nurses attempt to hold me down and the doctor even removed my underwear to the side. Despite my numerous objections and telling her, "No."

I think a 6 year old is entitled to bodily autonomy.

What was the inspection for? Bodily autonomy can be overruled if there's a serious enough medical emergency

Fake story. You posted this multiple times. Enough already.

Giving a 6yo body autonomy sounds retarded. Imagine allowing a kid who believes in santa claus to make life or death medical decisions.

    • This wasn't a life or death medical decision...

... and why exactly did they have to examine you?

    • I had some discharge. It was due to a vaginal foreing body. I didn't want the doctor to find out what i had done to myself.

Anyhow, this experience made me very anxious today during gyn exams as an adult and doctors automatically assume I was either the victim of rape or something else when I wasn't. And when I try to explain it to them, they still don't understand it and it aggravates the hell out of me. So much so that I never want to see a gyn again and I desperately need to now. And only two major hospitals serve my area and there is almost no private practice gyns and my insurance (Medicaid) doesn't give me a lot of other options. I'd rather die of a gyn cancer than see another gyn.

I'm sorry that the experience of being examined by a doctor traumatized you, but it's not exactly normal to insert foriegn objects inside yourself when you're only six years old. I didn't even know I had a bodily orifice down there when I was six years old. Why on Earth would you penetrate your nether region will a foreign object at such a young age, what gave you the idea to abuse yourself in such a way?

It's probably quite normal for health professionals to question whether, or not a child who did that was abused though.

        • Idk. Just curiosity. I put a Barbie doll down there and was just rubbing when its foot/leg accidently went inside my vagina. I didn't intentionally put anything in there. Boy, did it hurt and it was stuck and I yanked it out and then I bled a few drops. I was so scared.

No it's not a sexual assault. You only think it was a sexual assault because you were a kid. You sound like Peter Griffin in that one episode where he gets a prostate exam.

I'd say legally no, but really it should be regarded as assault. Obviously it was important for your health, but if you resist that much they should postpone it until your parents have convinced you that it's ok.

It may have been, but at any rate a traumatic experience. I wonder where you adult guardians were?
