Is there a downvote function? ->comments with negative thumbs up

I might just be dumb and missing something but I sometimes see comments on posts where it shows "-1" thumbs up. And when you like those comments it just goes back to "0". Is there a downvote function? Because I only see the thumbs up button.

EDIT: Just got the ability to downvote, so yeah most people were right in saying that you get it after some time

    Are you new here? As I recall new people usually get the downvote feature later on. You just have to keep upvoting comments you like and spend time here and you'll eventually get it.

    I once wrote a post asking the same thing and a downvote button miraculously appeared. I think donteatstuffoffthesidewalk is right.

    theres likely an algorithm that weights time here with numbera upvotes/downvotes and if anyone reports yall to determine if yall gots downvotin function or not

    I have the downvote ability but I don't know why. Some people deserve to be downvoted just as some people deserve to be upvoted. I'm glad I have it.

    There used to be a thumbs-down icon on all posts, but it disappeared a while ago. I don't know why, but I assumed it was because some people were playing silly games and down-voting everything certain members posted.

    I've noticed the occasional negative votes, and I have no idea how they happen on recent posts. Perhaps there's a select group of especially wise members who have been blessed with that right?

    IMO, it's best to just ignore the post scores. If someone has a definite view on something, they'll take a few moments to post a comment.
