Is my phone hacked

I downloaded app in me phone and then I felt oh maybe not so I deleted it... because I heard about risks for phishing which I dont know what is it? but somthing about hacking I think... It was an Instagram management app... Also did some in my laptop... And then I get after few hours on my instagram that someone signed in me account... I looked at it and it was in a different town so I changed my password because that was NOT ME I DO NOT LIVE THERE. Then today I check and it says my phone is logged in there in that town still!!!!!!
And it says that its my phone model logged in!!! but its a different town.... So it mean someone is using my phone from over there?????? someone controlling my phone?????
I turned off wifi in my phone when I saw this and put in airplane mode and I have not logged in anywhere and I have nothing important in my files. I have to do what?!

Phishing is when someone prompts you to log in to a specific site that is actually an imitation of the site you think you're logging into, and they steal your login info. In this case, it sounds like they did it under the guise of being a "management app".

You're wise to change your password. I believe there's an option to log your account off of any other devices, so you may want to try that and then change your password again.

I'm not sure that they've hacked your entire phone (TBH, I'm not tech savvy enough to be able to tell you for certain, but I would think they'd need more than your Instagram login info in order to be able to do so). It sounds like Instagram didn't kick them off of your account when you changed your password, so try the option to log your account off of any other devices and maybe enable two-factor authentication.

Also, you didn't happen to change your password through any outside apps or links, did you? It's best to manually do it from within the Instagram app. Use a difficult to guess password (preferably with numbers, special characters, and a mix of capital and lowercase letters; an old trick I was taught many moons ago when I first created online accounts was to leave vowels out as well) that isn't similar to your old one, or easy to guess for anyone who skims your profiles or knows you.

In the future, always be wary of any third party app that asks you for your login info to another app/site and calls itself a "management app". Also, anytime you get a link or app requesting you to log in to one of your accounts, always manually log in through the actual site/app rather than clicking the links or using their apps. When I've gotten phishing e-mails, they've always told me an account of mine (sometimes nonexistent ones) had been suspended/frozen and tried to prompt me to log in via a link. They look very convincing at first, but hovering over their e-mail address showed a different address than that of the actual company (that they tried to disguise it as), and there were usually typos or broken English in places.
