Is my bed shaking or am i losing my mind?

I searched for this question to see if it was posted already and it has, but i want to give you my experience. A few months ago i noticed that my bed would shake for no reason, both during the day and night.

I would try and sleep on my side and notice that i felt a slight shaking and tremor sensation, not violent but noticeable. Sometimes it keeps me from falling asleep

1) I don't live near train tracks.
2) There are no cars driving by.
3) I am fully awake when this is happening.
4) All four legs are the same length and my floor is even. And my grandparents just recently bought me a new bed anyway. (Not because of the shaking but just because i needed a bigger bed.)
5) My heart isn't beating fast and my nerves are fine.
6) The neighbors aren't loud or anything and since this is in the middle of the night they're probably asleep.

I'm beginning to think that it's all in my head. Sometimes i notice that the bed is not shaking and as soon as i become aware that there is no shaking the shaking starts again. But at the same time it's hard to believe that it's my imagination because i can physically feel it.

I am bewildered. Please give your opinion, thanks.

Hello everyone. The bed shaking incidents are 'normal' and only happen to a few individuals around the world. If it happened to you were curious enough to research, it means that you're ready. Contact me for details.

Hi my names aine from Ireland this bed shaking is happening me quite a lot over time I'm awake watching TV or just lying down on bed yesterday I was watching TV on my belly and I thought my young child was hiding in bed aged 8 boy behind my back I felt like there was a small person coming up from end of bed towards my top body and then the mattress started to rise from beneath as if someone was lifting it up I called my child he was downstairs I knew it couldn't be my cats as the lifting of mattress from underneath is not possible for an animal like a cat to do I looked under the bed to see if it was my eldest boy trying to scare me he was outside playing football with my youngest boy the bed has shaken several times over the years in this room but never to the point of feeling movement under the blanket and then been shoved upwards from under the blanket a few months ago 2 I was in same room on bed watching TV in same position lying on my belly in afternoon all kids were I. Their bed rooms and I felt this cold breeze come from behind me up to my ears and my hair blew forward and I heard an oldish manso voice groan or make a sigh out like he wasn't happy it scared m . My ex husband was at home that same week and I didn't tell him about the bed shaking in my room he was sitting get I. The kids spare room one morning going ànd his bed started to shake for a a minute he freeked out and told me that same week I was down stairs making lunch and he had just made the bed he was standing near the bed and it started to shake for a about a minute again he called me and I told him about my experience in my room what's going on kids won't go to bathroom on their own aged 15 12 and 8

You have to believe in god, maybe you don't. My grandma's sister had this happen to her, she hung a cross over her bed and prayed and it never happened again. You should light some Saige up. If it doesn't work, than spirits are not your problem. Yesterday night I told my grandma that I didn't believe in god and I was laughing about it I guess. And it happened to me that night so it is really creeping me out.

I thought I was losing my mind. While my bed was shaking, I saw the whole door to my bathroom move from right to left. It was as if another dimension was breaking through in my room. The shaking has happened at least 7 times in a year and a half. Here is my e-mail: [email protected]

      Please help me, I'm terrified!!

PS- now that I think about it, all of my beds have been doing this, but the shaking started out not as violent and attention seeking. I was able to explain it away with the possibility of an earthquake, or something I don't know... but it [the shaking] slowly started to become more obnoxious. It's like it's saying, "wake the fcuk up and pay attention!"

I am already a sensitive, empath, and some medium like qualities but I've been "hiding" them. Would this have ANYTHING to do with my bed shaking and all that??

You have a hypersensitive nervous system. As a result, you can more feel tactile sensations (such as vibrations) more acutely than others. It just means your body isolates out certain tactile stimuli and amplifies those signals to your brain too much. (thus, the hypersensitivity)

Read about sensory defensiveness disorder and sensory integration disorder.

Everything vibrates. That's what seismographs measure. Think of all the buzzing machines and cars and the inevitable subwoofer five blocks away... all the plumbing going through the city, the construction. Man-made vibrations and noises are everywhere. Your brain turns up the volume on those vibrations because you have a sensory disorder.

So no, you aren't normal... BUT you also aren't crazy. What you are feeling is real. You brain is just taking normal sensations the average person can tune out and exaggerates them. It's a neurological flaw.

Interesting..... I'm a sensitive too.... and this morning my fiance told me it happened last night about 5 a.m. and he tried to wake me up but I take sleeping medication so he couldn't wake me up..... which is strange because even with the sleeping pills I'm not hard to wake up. I figured it was an earthquake, but none was reported in my area so I'm trying to figure what the heck it could've been. He said it was as if a giant fist was pounding on the wall and the bed was shaking. It went on long enough be said to wake him up and for him to try to wake me up, get up, look under the bead, look outside, get up and GO outside and look around.... and he could STILL hear it. I'm slightly freaked out and want to know WTF it was....

I´ve had this experience - day AND nigh - for a few years now. Not only when I sleep, but when I sit on the couch. It´s more like the tremors of a small earthquake and it freaks me out. I´m constantly checking the internet and news for reports about earthquakes in my region.

A few weeks ago, I was woken up by the strong tremors and thought it was an earthquake. I got out of bed and felt the tremors in the living room and into the hallway, but not the kitchen (in the back of the house). I live in an earthquake zone, but I looked and there was none recorded for that day and time. It lasted nearly two hours, from about 3AM to 5AM. There are no trains at that time, no heavy traffic, etc.

A friend of mine, who is a psychic medium, told me that the earth´s vibrations are getting stronger and sensitive people are able to feel it. I am sensitive to aura and other psychic phenomena all of my life, but this is nothing that I ever experienced as a child. I also know how to "clear" rooms, but I don´t believe that the energy involved is particularly "negative". It´s just annoying when I´m trying to sleep.

I have asked all of my neighbors if they had heard it, too (I live on the 5th floor of 6, with 11 flats). No one else noticed the shaking. I also thought it might be caused by someone playing video games with the bass on high (but wearing earphones). Until now, I haven´t been able to find a viable explanation for myself. So, if anyone has one, I´d be interested.

Yea, Hi I heard you talking about shaking and recently I've had similiar with other strange things, for example when I was in bed and I feel like I am moving or the bed is forming around me but I'm sure it's not the bed but my muscles of my body doing the moving and shaking, and its very minimum shaking and moving, it's very strange because i live in ecuador and because the earths spin has slowed, they say there will be a super earthquake in the region and maybe because I'm sensitive, i can feel the vibes

Just had this happen to me <1 hour ago. I assume it’s in relation to my first sleep paralysis experience I had just 15 days ago. Coming from a former atheist of many years, I believe there’s a spiritual war happening. The vibration stopped when I called on the name of Jesus. If you’re still providing more details on this, I’d love to hear them

Same thing.. except I feel the vibration through my feet. It’s gotten stronger now to the point if I close my eyes and kneel, it feels like I’m moving.. motion like on a truck. Vibration, swaying back and forth and up and down. Almost I can imagine opening my eyes and not being where I started. Not every day.. and can’t always feel it in the same spots. strong enough that it had me download an app to test micro vibration.. and it registers. Something else just scared the pop out of me.. like for real eyes tearing up. Typing this leaning on bathroom counter in front of mirror, and the more I pay attention the more I realize out of peripheral vision my mirror reflecting is just off from my actual movements.. the fuh? I KNOW that’s not normal

My Name is Adam, im from North Carolina, US. And i've been feeling my bed shaking too, everytime I try to fall asleep, it moves, wobbles, shakes. But when I sit up, it doesn't, and when i go back lying down and close my eyes, guess what happens? It shakes!

But this hasn't happened to me all my life.

It started around 2-3 weeks ago. I experienced Sleep Paralysis. Where i "woke up" and felt my bed wobbling, then i felt heaviness on my back, and couldnt move, but it didnt last for long.

I also was just watching tv, saturday morning around 1am, half tired, just cause i woke up, and i just screamed out of no where! I jumped of my bed, screaming, and i didnt remeber why, what caused me to freak out.

So maybe theres a demon in my room, attacking me mentally everytime i sleep. Cause i everytime i sit up on my bed, it doesnt wobble or shake, but when i flip over, close my eyes to sleep, it starts moving, like someone's wobbling it. Its freaking me out! I haven't done anything with a Ouija Board, or The Charlie Charlie challenge or anything like that. And i know i feel it physically, cause im still wide awake.

Hello. This has happened repetitively to me. I thought it was earthquakes then an entity, still no clue... really bothered me. They were at times more in tense than others and impossible to deny them or refer to them as "in ur mind" for example. Some people told me it's my energy.. So by all means, I would love to hear your explanation. I also happen to predict earthquakes actually... I dream about them and hours later they happen - totally unrelated events however.

So i thinks it's a combination of this evil world wide targeted individual program that they have so many of us GOOD people in now to harass us for various reasons like collecting our emotional energy and break us down ect..Also..the earths vibrations are getting stronger and sensitive good people maybe feeling it..However, what ever is doing this to us is evil and not good so i just think it's a combination of the targeted individual program..falling gods at the top of it all...and earths vibrations...ect..Also think AI is involved in this as well. Advice. be strong and try to hold on and hopefully in the future this will all be put a stop and shut down..

The same thing happened to me for many years. I use to think it was the house I was in. I called all kinds of doctors and paranormal people to come in and test it. Then it started happening to me in beds all over the world so whatever it was was following me and not specific to the house. It's so annoying because I've never gotten any real answers. No one understands what I've spoke of. I've gone to hypnotherapy To try and find out what it is. I've just been told that I'm calling in and these are protective guides that help me when I need it. Of course there is no proof of any of that and I don't feel like I call them but I was told I do. Who knows but i've been dealing with this so much of my life. I've gone to so many doctors about it and I just sound like a loony bin.. still no solid answers. So sorry wish I could help better because I know how frustrating it is not knowing !!

        Google this- Organized gang stalking;
        Organized stalking using electronic harassment;
        Directed Energy Weapons (DEW)
Microwave hearing technology or Voice to skull (V2K)
The amount of available info is massive yet it's largely written off by the medical community as being a lot of paranoid and delusional schizophrenics coming together to fabricate conspiracy theories. I'll admit that there are J-cats and Wingnuts that can be identified by using common sense but there is a large number of people being targeted and there's almost nothing they can do to stop it. Can't stop the bed from vibrating either...ain't that a bitch?!

I'm sure all the possibilities I just read are plausible; perhaps a few in a parallel dimension but here in my dimension I'll tell you why my bed vibrates/shakes randomly for brief moments. An electromagnetic field (EMF) of modulating high and low frequencies has been detected with a meter. I wish there was a meter that detected the precise location of the perpetrator using this microwave weapon technology on me. I am a Targeted Individual (T.I.) and this is one of the many tactics being used to possibly create Navy Yard Shooter's in cities nationwide. Obama wants your guns and he knows his time runs short! A divided nation has been accomplished. An unarmed divided nation will be easily conquered by our government agencies alongside UN troops.

I'm not sure wtf it is but would love to know. I figure it could just be me so I ignored it and since nothing bad has come from it, I thought absolutely nothing of it.

I found this on a forum.

It's the Illuminati Lizard People. They send the Little Grays to shake Earthlings' beds.

No, seriously what is going on is *Hypnic jerk*. Do you ever wake up suddenly to a falling sensation and a strong muscle twitch just after you have fallen asleep or feel your bed was shaking?

These strange sensations and muscle twitches are known as a hypnagogic myoclonic twitch or *Hypnic jerk* If this has happened to you on more than one occasion, do not worry, you are not alone. Close to 70 percent of all people experience this phenomenon just after nodding off, according to a recent study at the Mayo Clinic.

Most experts agree that this is a natural part of the sleeping process, much like slower breathing and a reduced heartbeat. The occurance is well known and has been well documented. However, experts are still not completely sure why the body does this.

The general consensus among researchers is that, as your muscles begin to slack and go into a restful state just as you are falling asleep; your brain senses these relaxation signals and misinterprets them, thinking you are falling down. The brain then sends signals to the muscles in your arms and legs in an attempt to jerk you back upright. This misinterpretation that takes place in your brain may also be responsible for the *falling* dreams that accompany the falling sensation or the feeling that your bed is shaking. These *dreams* are not really normal dreams, as they are not produced from R.E.M sleep, but rather more like a daydream or hallucination in response to the bodys sensations.

While this phenomenon happens to most everyone, studies have recently begun to link occurrences of *Hypnic jerks* to sleep anxiety, fatigue, and discomfort. People who are having trouble sleeping or cannot get comfortable in bed appear to experience the sensation more often throughout the night. It is especially more common with people who are trying to fight falling asleep or have deprived themselves of sleep for more than 24 hours.

Researchers believe that the lack of sleep from sleep anxiety or sleep deprivation confuses the muscles and the brain. The muscles continually attempt to relax and shut down for rest, while your brain remains awake creating continued *misinterpretations* of falling or loss of balance which causes the body to jerk and shake the bed.

Scientists and researchers continue to study sleep twitching and jerking in a small capacity, but state that the sensation is completely normal for our bodies and is *of little medical significance*. Our bodies go through several procedures of shutting down and preparing for an extended period of rest. *Hypnic jerking* is just one of them. It does not appear to cause damage to the body and poses no danger to our physical well being."

This doesn't seem right to me. I'm familiar with the hypnic jerk. It happens to me all the time. But I've also felt the bed shaking and it's different. The shake it so imperceptible that I wondered if there was small earthquake. And it goes on for much longer that the hypnic jerk. The bed shaking thing is relatively new to me. Sometimes it happens while I"m sitting in bed reading before bedtime. Sometimes it happens when I wake up in the middle of the night. This morning my dog needed to go outside about an hour before my alarm went off. I got up, took her out, fed my cats, and then got back in bed for awhile and then felt the shaking again. Maybe there is something related to the hypnic jerk that explains this but it doesn't seem like the same thing to me.

Hypnic jerking may be the reason, but it isn't for me. I am now of middle age and have experience bed shaking my entire life. It has happened at all times of the day in houses and different beds across the country, and in the presence of my first and second husbands along with my 4 children. A few times it even happened while the kids were sitting on my bed trying to convince me to buy them donuts (a typical Saturday morning ritual). 2 of my daughters have now mentioned the same has happened. They are unaware of my experiences and both asked what I thought it's going on with them. One was folding towels while sitting in her loft bed the other day, with me in the room. I have never been able to figure it out.

I just woke up with another episode of the bed shaking. What is so crazy is that I fell asleep listening to an interview with a reptilian extraterrestrial on YouTube. I woke up, sat up in the bed realizing what was going on and with the bed still shaking, I decided to lay my head back down on the pillow and felt a push onto my upper back before the shaking stopped. This has been happening for years and I have actually witnessed getting out of the bed while my two beautiful girls were sleeping in the bed next to me and their little bodies bouncing. I too thought it was a muscle spasm or something in that matter until doing my own investigating and noticing something I couldn't explain. I also thought I was the only one and happy to see that I'm not crazy.

This started years ago when I lived in a haunted house at the age of 15, I'm now 37 and have gotten use to the vibrating and shaking that it doesn't bother me any more but would like to know what in the hell is going on.

I can't believe I'm not alone. This has been happening for a month now. My kids think I'm crazy. It happens at all times of the day. If I'm standing next to my bed, folding clothes, leaning on my mattress...It happens. I've checked all around and under, nothing. I even thought maybe mice had evaded my boxspring. The other night I was sitting up with my laptop on my lap and it felt like something in my pillow pushed my back...it scared the shit out of me. I also had a friend come by, who knew nothing of this, and asked why is my bed shaking....my kids don't feel it...I am now getting used to it when I need to go to sleep...but I'm still...GOING F'N CRAZY....

If you live in a condo could be bad joists. Our condo has had termites, and I have been trying to convenience the Association I believe damage has occurred causing the vibrations I feel, mostly from neighbors at night.

However, sometimes, I have felt vibrations during the day. I read plumbing repairs can cause joist problems, which will cause vibrations.

If you live in a house, depending on age, could be the joists. Also outside electrical boxes near the home can cause vibrations.

I have spoken to an acoustical engineer about my vibrations. He stated if you don't know what is causing it, it can be hard to locate.

It is very hard on one's health to live with this. I know, I have for four years. I know what is causing mine, but cannot get anyone to believe me. There is NO noise with my vibrations, so hard to prove.

Another thing I was told. Small people feel vibrations when larger or over weight people usually don't feel what they are feeling. I weigh 99 pounds. My daughter weights 118. She and her 6', 220 husband did not feel the vibration in my bed. So again, how do I prove it. Can a lawyer help, or am I wasting my $$$?

Don't worry. I replied to the hypnic jerking post above. Read my reply. I have never had anything harmful come from it, other than being frustrated that I can't figure it out. It can be embarrassing, which is why I never let friends or in-laws near my bedroom. People are more open minded these days, but not enough.

Hi, I'm new here. Did a search on shaking beds because its happening to me. I thought it was strange that there is a whole board dedicated to this. It happened several times, I brushed it off as dreaming. It happened again last night, I was half asleep as always when it happens but when it happens I sort of wake up and take notice of it and it seems to vibrate, shake to the point of actually hearing it but as soon as I move it all stops! HellWTF is going on! It doesn't scare me there must be something to it if its happening to others too. Maybe its some other dimension meshing with ours and causing vibration, I don't know its why just the bed though.

My mattress moves nightly and early morn. I get very little sleep. After hearing the couple who shares a bedroom wall in my condo, I know it is them and what they are doing in bed. They apparently are on something that they do this nightly off and on. I am getting maybe four hours sleep. I have yelled at them and told them they are causing vibrations in my bed, but they don't care. Because I cannot prove the vibrations the Association and Board have done nothing. Once I reported them moaning and calling out, the Board did send a warning letter. That stopped, but not their act in bed, night after night starting at 8 or 9 pm and only stopping around 1am or when they go to the bathroom or work at 6am. It cost $1500 to have vibration equipment tested, and I cannot afford that. I know it is the floor, old carpet and padding. The building is 44 years old. Their landlord doesn't believe me. I tried yelling at them when they wake me and they reported me to the guard. This is causing me health problems, and I do not feel I should sell my home because of renters. I can't afford too anyway. How can I prove this vibration? There is no noise, just a terrible tremor in my bed. I can also feel it on my sofa in the living room, so sleeping there is not the answer. No one believes someone enjoying such pleasure does it for so many hours. I am thinking he must be taking something to keep this up. Can't prove that either.

My friend and I are right this moment laying side by side in two separate beds in a beach house. My bed did the gentle shake thing and our of sheer curiosity I asked him if he felt his bed shake. He said he did and we had a discussion about how this happens to us randomly all the time. It could be small tremors, but that seems odd to me. I've never heard of small tremors happening so often. We're probably cursed. Demons want our souls.

this is not something happening to your body and logic will not suffice. my girl friend has mentioned this occurrence many times and though i wasnt sure what to make of it i never really have it much thought. until it happened while i was in bed with her, and i felt it. she said it happens in every bed shes ever slept in, aside, obviously, from maybe crashing at a friends house for a night for example, but every bed she has slept in where she actually lived. this happened last night and i was a little freaked. she asked me if i felt it, because she had told me about it before. and i said yes. then it really hit me, that there was absolutely no logical explanation for it. i dont do well with things that cant be broken down logically and understood. i jumped up and turned the light on. tested the bed a bit. checked the stability of the legs. how freely it moved on its own, which it didnt. its solid. an oak frame. its heavy. the motion that i felt was literally not physically "possible". there is no way it could have happened. i mean, the frame probably weighs about 120 lbs. its firm. no play in it what so ever. no way that the floor or the house could have moved with it. room mates were home and awake. they did not feel any thing. it was, as described, rather gentle. the mention of neurological or muscular issues was quite probable in my opinion until i experienced it with her. there is no doubt that it was not something with in either of us. very fucking weird.

This is someone elses post below it explains how it is her, the girl in your post shaking the bed with her heartbeat, slow or fast doesnt matter, and therefore thats why you could feel it too.

It is probably your heart beat. This started happening to me and I also thought I was going insane trying to figure out if the bed actually was shaking or if it was in my head. Here is how I realized it was my heart beat. Laying on your back or stomach, inhale air, then VERY slowly exhale, periodically stopping at different points. If you get your chest to be expanded at a certain point it will amplify the shaking from your heart. It does for me anyways. I've always assumed it was from a strong heart beat and something to do with the structure of my body amplifying the vibration, which is more pronounced when the chest is expanded to a certain point. For me, this expansion is at the point when exhaling almost completely. Just a little bit expanded. I Figured all of this out when my wife asked me if my heart beat was shaking the bed. It wasn't just me! That long post above referring to twitching and jerking has nothing to do with this. That is referring to involuntary body twitching and jerking while asleep, also sometimes referred to as restless leg syndrome.

Have to laugh at some people who try to convince themselves that it's a medical condition. It's amazing that in our vast planet and in the universe people can't accept that there are things they can't grasp with their tiny peabrains.
It's not normal that your bed is shaking. If you can see it and feel it, it's not normal. Let me tell you something.
One night my girlfriend and I were sleeping and at about 3am I woke up and heard a scratching noise in the room. I looked over at my girlfriend sleeping, and as clear as clear can be, underneath the blanket by her back was the shape of a hand. It was moving and I could see even see the knuckles when it got higher near the sheets. I was frozen scared. She stirred a few times when this shape kept moving. I had to shake my head and slap myself to tell myself it was happening. It was. No medical condition, not hallucinating. Just two days prior, my girlfriend broke down and told me a story about her step father dying in the bathtub at her mom's house. She said a month later, weird things started happening. She said she could hear something talking to her at night but it had a deep, slow, scary voice and wasn't her father. She said whenever she would take a bath in her mom's house the water would turn ice cold in a matter of seconds. Keep in mind this is where her step father died. She also told me that something was trying to touch her and all she could see the outline of it/his hand in the sheets. She told me a few times she could hear her mom talking to someone in her room and answering back but nobody was there with her in the room. After she told me that story is when the weird happenings started.
Bottom line is that there are things human beings don't understand and comprehend. Just because one person doesn't believe something doesn't mean they are right. Usually this are the ones that are wrong about everything and are kbow-it-alls and are usually hated by people.

I have experienced this same problem and just decided to look it up and found this post. I feel like a lot of your answers are split. I thought the sleep paralysis thing was a possibility except for the fact that the symptoms just weren't exactly the same. My bed shakes like an earth quake after shock. It happens when I'm awake in bed at night and in the morning and afternoon. I saw a post that said when you're body is close to sleep and you start dreaming before you are actually asleep it can cause your body to shake. Although I would have taken that as an excuse they didn't give any supporting facts to prove that so idk about that. The heart vibrating thing doesn't sound right either bc it isn't like a vibrating feeling. It's like a gentle shaking. And not my main torso or something shaking, like my WHOLE body lightly rocking short rocks back and forth. It can't be in my head bc I have paid close attention to it and this may be weird to say but I am a chesty girl and when the bed shakes I can physically see my chest shake with it. It is still a creepy experience for me so I have yet to move while it's happening I mainly try to stay still so I can watch and see if I can see the bed moving. I thought I was going crazy until my mother said to me that she experiences the same thing! And we sleep in 2 different beds in 2 different rooms. It's possible if there is a logical explanation she is experiencing the same thing but what is weird is that we both starting experiencing this after the weird earth quake that occurred in the dmv area back in 2010. This is what makes it weird to me. Bc it happened the night after the earth quake so for months I though it was the after shocks that they spoke of. But it is well past the time for after shocks. I doubt I have a ghost bc we are the first to live in my town house, no one has died in the area. The house wasn't built on some grave or anything so it can't be a ghost. If it's a demon why wait til now to show up?? I'm looking for some kind of logical explanation bc spirits and such just don't make sense in my case. I know this post is old as dirty but I would appreciate any kind of logical feed bac. I also wanted to share my story bc it is a little different from you all. I have not experienced this while in bed with anyone else and I have other people experiencing it in my house. It happens at most 4 times a month and at least once a month. The shaking lasts for maybe 10-15 seconds and then is gone. I have experienced the shaking as close as 2 days apart but after that it's gone for a while. Please give some answers. Sorry I know my post is long.

I have also been experiencing the exact damr thing. I can also see the physical movement of my surroundings. And like you, it started after the earthquake in dmv in 2010. I lived in Fredericksburg fpr the last 4 years and recently moved to WV the beginning of this year, and have been experiencing them still. More progressively and.more intense.over.time. I dont think it's any sort of neurological disorder like vertigo or sleep paralysis.. This is totally different.

Hi. I'm a female almost 47 yrs old. In my life I've had very bizarre things happen. Ghosts (I've always said I have a prankster ghost) moving my stuff around (since I was a young kid) and then I find it a few minutes later in a place where I KNOW it wasn't sitting. Or I'll find it a month later. I've experienced 'sleep paralysis' (which I don't believe in,) many dozens of times starting at age 14. And also a shaking/vibrating bed, when there is no explanation for it. The sleep paralysis has been gone for many years because I learned how to fight it off.

However last night something woke me up out of a dead sleep, it felt like a VERY large dog jumped onto my bed. I don't have a dog and I sleep with my bedroom door closed so it wasn't my cat. I bolted up and yelled at my cat however, not realizing what it was, and then realized there was something very large on my bed, so I told it to GTFO of here and it left. I had been asleep for at least an hour, so I wasn't on the verge of falling asleep nor coming out of sleep.

I got up and my roommate was in his room still awake, so I told him what happened. He thinks it was a dream, but it wasn't a dream. Strangely, he didn't hear me scream.

My bed is a new mattress inside of a water bed frame which is on the floor with no springs, nothing. It's rock solid and there is nothing to 'shake.' It's a gel foam mattress which doesn't move. I've experienced the shaking in different states of the country and on different beds. I thought it might be my heart at first, but how does your heart shake an entire bed when you are wide awake? Impossible. I am not insane, on drugs, I don't drink, I don't mess with the occult although I did when 25 years ago out of curiosity. Mostly Ouija boards.

My brother also has these experiences, but this is the first time something BIG was ON my bed. My mother used to tell me something would get on her bed all the time. She is gone now. Our family has been plagued by paranormal things. We are all empathic/and somewhat psychic. I have dreamt about things before they happened. I read about the Hypnic jerk and my body is not big enough to create the scenario that I experienced last night. I would like to talk to other people about this because I don't like feeling alone and I want to get rid of it. My health hasn't been good and I don't need this sh*t right now in my life. Sorry so long. Anyone who can relate, please contact me, thank you.

Go read the other Dove777 reply below. What was on ur bed wasn't a dog. Sorry to say, it was the baphomet. And im not just saying this. Next time ask for gid and pray while it happens, u will perhaps catch a glimps as the paralysis sheds and he flees. Creeped out? U shoukd be. U need to pray and read the bible. 100 % the paranormal will stop, and so will the shaking . It comes down to Jesus and accepting his sacrifice. U have been too close to evil, and somehow ur mind kept weak.

I am a 58 he old male. This has been going on since November 17th 2017. There is a lot I can't explain including this and it was happening in my truck as well which I basically abandoned. I am about to look into the possibility that I have been targeted by our government.

Ooops not finished. Over the years I've realized that there are different types off spirits. There are demons, that's not the ones that shake your bed. Some like to play games such as hide things from you or turn your t.v. on, off, up, or down. They always give back what they hide in time and that's the ones that shake your bed. They will sometimes say your name or call you names they've heard other people call you, such as moma, and its usually a whisper. 3 years ago I had some save my life from a head on collision with an 18 wheeler. To long of story to mention everything but i was airlifted to trauma center and put in icu. Couldnt tell who i was very disoriented. The next day was realeased without a scratch on me. But anyways i live in a camper now while we get our house ready and i felt the camper shaking several times today while im watching tv. The ones that followed me around were not good ones. I had been communicating with them. That was while I was in my 20's and I quickely learned that was bad. It took me a while to shake them off. Scary...wouldn't ever do again.

Okay, figure this one out then. I have had something similar happen for years now. Only at night while on my bed. Yes, it feels like the bed is moving but it feels more like there are giant rats running around in the mattress. Scary, and I thought there were, until I checked! Not only does it happen with one mattress, it happens with them all! And, in the last three places I've lived! There's no way something is really in there (no holes leading in and nothing could live sealed up in every mattress I get!). It happened again last night. It happens whether or not the bed is up against a wall, or two walls. It freaks me out laying there and feeling something (a few somethings) running around all over the mattress. No, there is not something 'tangible' in the mattress'. When I stay at a motel, it happens there as well. It's not restless leg syndrome, or Hypnic jerk. I can be totally awake and lay there and feel it bounce around all over the bed, inside and out. Even with the light on and I see nothing.

I've never had this experience until I moved to this house, I believe in demons and believe it's one, I also believe in god but am on a spiritual retreat from him. I would look at my closet and see one piece of clothes on the hangers swing while the rest are in place and then abruptly stop. I don't want to lose credibility but another reason why I believe it's a demon is that once while I was sitting down in the living room I heard a high pitch noise, usually the type that people can only hear when they're quiet and then I heard a demonic voice, that only happened once. My bed shakes any time of the day, sometimes it doesn't for days, and it doesn't happen when certain company is around. The floor doesn't shake just the bed.

OMG OMG...I'm so glad i am not the only one! I just had another episode last night...and i was not even asleep yet! When it stopped..i finally went to sleep..it started again...woke up enough to stay awake...flipped on my side (i was on my back). Looked at a text on my cell, still had to wait until it stopped to go back to sleep...it lasted almost a minute...it may not sound like a long time...but it sure in hell felt like it! Thank you all for sharing!!!

My fiance has told me about her bed shaking experiences, but a month or so ago i experienced it first hand. We woke up to it...felt as though someone dropped a quarter into a vibrating bed at a motel...at first i thought it was the dog scratching (he sleeps at the foot of the bed)...but he was asleep. Dont know what it is, but its odd to say the least.

I stumble upon this site looking for info on bed shaking, its been happening now for over a year. It happens in the middle of the night when I am asleep. I feel a small but noticeable vibration at first i thought it maybe a small earthquake and I used to get up and check on things but I swear it seems only the bed is shaking and I am not twitching I would know if I was. Soooo weird....

No springs in my bed its a Temperpedic no box spring, it's against a wall and I cannot even lift the bed frame it is so solid and heavy it holds the motor and stuff for the adjustable portion of the bed (when its used) I have to slide the bed to move it. I just found a pretty interesting site though where you can check for sinkholes or anything within the vicinity of your house that may be causing or toxic nearby www.plotscan.com for free... way too many sink holes nearby for my liking.

It feels like subtle earthquake tremors and I am completely still without moving when this happens, no vibrations I am not laying to sleep I am sitting and watching tv and the bed is flat I am not using the adjustable portion when this happens I am about 1.5 miles from an ocean, no train tracks, no excuses for this to be happening, no washers or anything on other than a television and my laptop.

I have an adjustable bed also. The acoustical company I spoke with said move the bed away from the wall. It was already away from the wall.

I live on the third floor of a 44 yr old condo I bought 34 years ago. We have had termites, and earthquakes, and the plumbing is bad. I am sure it is the joists, the Association won't have that checked, they ignore my requests. I found out because it is too expensive to repair.

My vibs are caused by the renters who share a bedroom wall with me and have sex off and on all night. I can barely hear them moving in the bed as the wall is thin. Soundproofing does NOT stop vibration. I found that out when I soundproofed my living room wall and still got vibrations from another neighbor on that side.

I cannot prove what they are doing, but I do know. I can hear their movement through my pillow. Crazy? Yes. But the acoustical engineer said he hears that a lot. He said it is hard to find out what is causing some vibrations. I know for sure what is going on, just can't prove it to the Association, and therefore, I get no helpand little sleep, which is causing health problems . If he would move their bed away from the wall we share, it might help. But I doubt it, since the acoustical people said from what I am telling them, the floor needs to be replaced.

Start checking where you live thoroughly. It may take time, but it you may find the problem if it is in a condo.

This has been happening to me off and on for over a year now, I live in Saint Augustine florida, I have an extremely heavy brand new adjustable bed, it has woken me up from my sleep the first time... so much so it freaked me the fk out. But every other time I have been WIDE AWAKE, no sleeeping, no dreaming, no jerking, no nothing, the bed it freakin shaking I know so because i placed a bottle of water on the bed laying down where the bubble of no water is able to be seen at the side, just thought about doing this tonight and the water is moving... it gets stronger and then goes away... it freaks me out and makes me think its the beginning of a sinkhole, bed is also against the wall I feel this no where else but my bed it's weird as hell... and scares me to death. Glad I am not alone... as I watch the water move continuously.

My bed is doing the same thing. It started about a year ago, I wake up and just lay there for a couple of minutes until the shaking stops. I know it isn't my body doing it because I am wide awake at that point. It is only a slight shaking and doesn't happen all of the time. The thing is it happens at my house and when I am staying somewhere else. I know it isn't body jerks.

I believe that this is some sort of energy trying to make its presence know. Has been happening on and off since childhood but now only happens after I have become aware of a negative energy in my space. Then sure enough the bed shakes. Anyone know how to clear this type of familiar and persistent energy?

I have been having the same experience for the past couple of years since moving to Florida, where there is no seismic activity. I thought it was an exaggerated sensitivity to my own heartbeat or that I was hallucinating. The shaking sometimes wakes me from a sound sleep. I finally told my husband, a super-logical MIT type of guy and he confessed that he has experienced it too. Now we will tell each other when we feel it, but have no answer as to WHY. I don't believe in ghosts but have no explanation for this strange phenomenon, and after reading the posts, other "victims" of bed shaking are just as clueless. Is there a scientist in the group who can help (and no, my husband isn't one - he is more of an analyst). This is not restless leg or hypnic jerk - the bed is actually rattling. Thanks.

This is a problem. I am having the same experience. My mattress vibrates. Sometime for only a few seconds and other time for minutes. There are no earthquakes, trains, plane or automobiles. I am wide awake. I didn't just wake up. It is usually by me legs. It feels like something is pushing up from under the sheets. Sometimes it sound like a purring cat. I have no pets. I don't take drugs or smoke or drink alcohol. I have turned on the lights and pulled back the blankets and I see something moving under the sheet. I have taken the sheets off the bed and taken the mattress of the bed and I find nothing. I thought that maybe a mouse had made a home inside the mattress, but there are no entry holes. Sometimes I can feel the vibration with my hand and other times it's not there. Anyone who knows what this is, please let me know. It also happens in my spare bed room and on the couch.

If you are in a condo could be neighbors, and caused by bad joists. If you are in a house, could be some electrical boxes near your home.

For me its a here and there thing. Also, it's more like a brief, light tremble or vibration. I'm not sure what happens when I'm not in bed to feel it but that's like being asked if a tree makes a sound when it falls in the forest...
Modulated high and low frequencies creating an electromagnetic field is the cause of my situation. All those metal bed springs are like a miniature HAARP (elf arrayed antenna system)

I can't answer as to why this happens, but it's happened to me too. To the point where I took the mattress off the bed, put it on the floor and slept on it there. And it still shook (or felt like it shook). I honestly don't know why, but at least we're not alone.

I've had this happening to me for some time now and almost every night it causes a fight between myself and my boyfriend. He tells me I'm shaking the bed when I know I'm laying completely still. Then says I'm making a swirly motion under the blanket when I know that I am not. Then he gets up and storms off. He doesn't believe that I'm not doing anything or moving at all, at least to my knowledge. It's very frustrating...

I experienced this first hand, thinking it was in my head. I experienced this because I decided to try to lucid dream, instead for the next two days of me trying to do so, my bed was shaking. I grabbed my phone for the light, also just so I was sure I wasn't losing my mind so I could know for sure that something else was shaking besides just me; it was literally the bed. My bed, my phone, the light on my phone, and I, were all moving in sync. My boyfriend told me to stop trying to lucid dream because I'm opening myself up to other worldly things, I agree, but I'm curious to find a solid explanation.
(Not sleep paralysis, because as I said, "I grabbed my phone," clear indication that I was not immobilized, and I was beyond conscious. I was on the phone with my boyfriend as well, not speaking when I was trying to lucid dream, but literally as soon as I tried to do so, bam. 'Tis when I started speaking to him to make sure I was conscious, as well as when I grabbed my phone. Cannot disprove, nor discredit anyone's experience. May it be in their head, or actually fucking around with the other side.)

This has been happening to my mom for some time now and I at first was a skeptic until about a month ago when it started happening to me. I can't believe how many people this is happening to. I think it's because the devil knows his time is coming up so he is attacking as many people as he can. Ps in was out of the country, I've been in many actual earthquakes. I've also been by railway tracks growing up. There was zero heavy equipment in the semi rural area, and it was late in the evening. It wasn't the first time. 1 week ago I recorded sounds in the sky. Just Google, strange sounds form the sky. They were similar to the ones Terrace BC, in Canada. So when the room shook by my accounts, a 3.5 to 4 magnitude, I went out of my room. No shaking. I had where I was staying 7 other people. 3 in the basement, 2 ground floor, and I was upstairs. The joices had even creeped. Water in the Brita filter container sloshing to and frow. Plant leaves jiggling. A few dishes clanking. I left the room a second time, the shaking and tremor feeling wasn't present. Major WTF moment again. Back in the room. Reading again, the tremors continued maybe 15 minutes from the initial 3.5 or 4 magnitude. No record of anything online. The other occupiers felt nothing. There was zero construction. No major movement of trust etc. And btw I don't drink and have never done narcotics, that includes weed. Never any head injuries. I figured the last number of times I felt just tremors maybe 2 or 3 in magnitude it was just normal for the area. But in fact looking back there was no record of anything for years.

First, people stop suggesting to people experiencing this that it is a twitch, neurological issue, a givernment program, a cultist targeting or any other fiction (well who knows on the cult targeting depending). Let's put our heads together and figure out commonalities between us. There is, obviously, something more to this. I'm a physicist and an airline pilot, pretty sane by many standards. I have integrity and medical checks. That said now, I'm also well aware of other areas, being governance is my forte, but so to theology. Unlike many physicists I'm aware of theoretical physics also from a supernatural context. In this case I rule out physical rarional. We aren't nuts, we arent geriatrics. I note one lady mentioned she was a pegan, pretty vague. But she said it in a way that sounded as though she had regretted and knew it. How you are as a person would relate to your connectedness to what type of non normal esperiences. Among your perceived dimensions are dimensions curled small, unseen, and in many ways you are a projection from the event horizon, well kept information. It's called the holographic effect, and it's a well accepted concept commonly used in physics today. In addition to this, we are sorta kept in a prison with time and space as you see it, whereas the quantum level has an ambiguous time, foreward and backwards are all the same, and elements come into and pop out of existence continuously, all along there is quantum entangements which create regions of space and entangle us with certain things we can only begin to guess at. From a theological and philosophical point of view the implications of these understandings are unreal, that it is hard to imagine an atheist being able to exist after such understandings of the most advanced psychs, but they do. There are I shall assume dimensions for which spiritual beings have domain to influence and dwell. And creating such effects would be quite easily done for them. The question is why to us. Is this being done by evil? Or good? As a warning ? A sign? Or if it is done by evil, what have we done such that we have not been protected... So I pose some questions.. ....... Who hear , has experienced this and been in closeness with the darkness of this world, be it around people who tamper in this evil world , say witchcraft, or u yourself have brushed into it. In other words, are u close to Satan in some way. Have u allowed yourself to do spirityally evil things? Have you done something or continue to do things that are unholy? And also, who has had a spiritual type of awakening, no matter what evil u did in the past, who has , in a Christian context , become closer to God. And further, who has the belief that no matter the evil they have done, that Jesus' sacrifice is what can wash your sins and that faith in his sacrifice is your salvation. Who here is basically an antichrist...you dont beleive in christ, or if u do, u do nit beleive his sacrifice gives salvation to clense the sins we have done and continue to do. And lastly, who here has prayed when they encounter this shaking? I for one have prayed. But as well a pivotal period of good and evil in my life existed. For me it case at a cusp in time, where an epochal shift would be made. It was almost as if, in my mind, this was occuring as a wake up call, to remind me that evil was on my heals, without protection, or to remind me of the rath of god and purpose. I have in my time satanists take everything in my life because of the good i was dedicated to. They have been on my heals for about a decade now. My wife, everything, gone. But i have my resolve, im in impecable spirits, and im not letting up the good i plan. That said, evil temps me often, and I cant help but suggest in my case this may be why. Look u people, we all know what we are experiencing, let's get that straight . Why is the question... Let's be productive. I'm a physicist like I say, so if I of all people am suggesting something biblical in nature, something spiritual, then look at ur life, and ask why and what would be the reason, even if it may be disconcerting and sobering to judge ur self....then u should consider my words. I recon the tone of most of the people making comments is that of good hearted people. But perhaps u have a battle on ur hands. Another commonality. For the people on this thread,...rest assured, not pampering my ego, but I'm of a most obscure ability in terms of knowledge and of wisdom in certain areas, so take advantage of this to solve it as if I may be ur better shot at solving it. I'll check back periodically. Ps, the praying so far stopped the shake. You can text me on whatsapp 3127313700. There is a reason, and it is not from our physical world...now let's figure out why.

My 44 year old daughter has been experiencing intense physical phenomena for over 2 years. Her bed shakes, vibrates and she feels this and other physical phenomena all over house but it is strongest when she is lying in her bed. When it first started she thought there was an earthquake. No earthquake. We have sought out help from psychic investigators with lasers, monitors, etc. From various pastors including priests from the Catholic Church. From mediums and healers. All tried to help and when they couldn’t, they dropped her (us) like a hot potato. None called her crazy or claimed it was “her overactive” imagination, but none could help. After over 2 plus years, she found this website. Many of you sound exactly like her!!! She also has recorded orbs of light flying about the room, a strange floating weblike structure that was moving and opaque, audio phenomena... is this a sensitivity to normal electrical vibrations, spiritual phenomena, psychic phenomena, extraterrestrial in nature?????

I was falling asleep, felt the shake (it wasn't crazy violent but it definitely was rough enough to send the cat running), I snapped awake and within the second I felt a buzzing, bleary, almost suffocating sensation in and around my head.
Over the years I've believed paranormal experiences are PROBABLY all either sensory hallucination, or aliens.
I live in a well populated area so aliens doesn't make sense. But hallucination, or hypnic jerking, both don't make sense. I was pretty wide awake, I was having a train of thoughts. The weird thing is I also can't remember any of my thoughts beforehand, which made me panic and think "aliens" but I checked my clock and no time had passed. Jesus, I'm going nuts, eh?

Ok this only started to happen to me recently. It's the noise of my bed springs that keeps me awake. I don't feel as if I'm shaking. But the bed doesn't shake when I'm not in it. For a while I thought it might have beef a result of the dishwasher or dryer making my bed move enough to shake it ever so slightly causing the springs to squeak. But it seems to happen all the time now. What the heck is happening?

It happens to me too! It happened yesterday again and I came upon this while looking online for similar occurrence and I am glad, I am not alone!
I don't think it is Hypnic jerk because I know what it is and it happens when I am asleep like very rarely but this bed shaking thing happens when I am well awake and sitting on the bed reading or working on my laptop.
I guess, either we are sensing mild (normal?) earth movements or it is our muscles acting up... or it might a case of mild vertigo because if I pay attention to it, it is more of a mental thing than physical...but can't say for sure. When I talk about vertigo, people who are experience the same thing as me, might be having a low blood pressure or is anaemic or has some eye sight issue or is low on oxygen by forgetting to breath because of which one feels dizzy without realizing it and feels that the bed is shaking (and sometimes as if the room is moving)... Also if one notices those people who experience it while awake might be engrossed in some or other thing like reading, etc because of which the above might happen...

      Add ear problem too...

I've come to conclusion that it might be a mild case of vertigo and because going through the link and the symptoms, it matches somewhat...

To the OP, what do you think?

It could be a sign of sleep paralyses. Sleep paralyses is like... When your body falls asleep whilst you are mentally aware. When this happens you may feel a shaking motion or slight vibrations in the bed. Now most people would feel uncomfortable and move. But if you keep absolutly still for a few minuets you'll start to feel that your limbs (arms legs) go numb and it feels like there not attached to your body. Then I gets even freakier you start to feel eerie people usually open there eyes at this point and when they do they'll notice something odd they'll feel another presence in the room. What people feel and see from this point on varies some people say they could not move they're body at all apart from there eyes they feel like there being pinned down they feel a chocking sensation they can't breath they try to scream but they can't. Some people report seeing an old lady with dark black mascara running down her eyes they say she climbs on top of the victims chest and sits there (can't breath).some people report seeing a shadowy man standing over them he puts his arms around your neck (choking). And then there's the sexual assaults demonic beings succubis incubus (sexual demons) they basically force you to do stuff. So yeah it could just be your bed or something but there is a really big chance you could be going through minor stages of sleep paralyses.

I had a few incidents similar to yours within the last year. I honestly had to look under my bed to see if my kids were playing a joke on me. It only happened to me late night or early morning... never naps during the day. I was just diagnosed with multiple sclerosis two weeks ago and my doctor told me that i am going to start discovering more things like this make sense. I shake at the end of the day when my body is most tired.

can you tell me your process for being diagnosed with MS. yesterday I went to the eye doctor and he told me that have some swelling around my optic nerve. I looked this up, and it could be a number of things, but when I came across some info on MS, I realized that some of the sensations I have been having over the last yr are symptoms of MS. I feel like my couch and bed shake. it happens late in the day or at night. it's not a visible shaking, just a sensation. Sometimes my vision feels shaky or seems to shake too.

Also your heart doesn't need to be beating fast for this to happen. A slow regular rhythm at a constant rate is most effective. Certain frequencies of sound or repeated tapping can cause objects to vibrate to the point of catastrophe as demonstrated by Nikola Tesla. This is why marching bands or military break cadence when marching over bridges. Get a thousand people on a bridge and nothing happens. Get a hundred people on a bridge all stamping at the exact same time and the vibrations can potentially cause the bridge to vibrate violently. Tesla theorized you could split the Earth in two if you detonated thousand tons of dynamite, waited till the vibration went through the Earth and comes back. At the moment the vibration comes back to you, detonate another thousand tons of TNT. Do this repeatedly and you build upon the original vibration over and over until it rips the Earth in half. Watch the Myth Busters episode where they explore Tesla's earth quake machine. The results are so surprising it scares them. I think this is a part of what happens when you lie on a bed, especially if your chest expansion has something to do with carrying the vibrations from your heart beat more effectively. What could be more regular than your heart beat? Why doesn't everyone experience this? Maybe they do and they just don't say anything about it. Or maybe it has to do with the individual's body structure. In my case, I am fairly slender (150lbs male) and my heart beat has always been so strong sometimes I can see the actual beat in my chest if I exhale deeply.

I can't be assed to read through all these comments so some-one might of already said it, but sleep paralysis can give you a shaking feeling, or the feeling of floating away, or fallng through your bed. Its pretty weird. I've experienced it a lot while doing WILDS.

Maybe it has something to do with the springs that are inside the bed and you are just sensitive to the vibrations that they give? I sleep like a F*cking rock myself, so I would not know.
