Is it wrong to steal overpriced stuff

I only steal things from walmart etc such as a $6 tube of superglue, a $25 dollar t shirt, overpriced stuff that i didnt work hard to waste my money on that i need. I never have stole from a person and never would consider stealing money or for profit. Am i wrong?

I don't see stealing from multinational companies (or any big enough to have shareholders) as a particularly bad thing. Just don't steal from small businesses. That's as bad as stealing from people.

A thief is a thief no matter who or where you steal it from.

I think this is reasonable. If they don't want the stuff stolen, price it reasonably.

WalMart is a mega dirty player kind of corporation so, maybe this mild redistribution to those in need is ethically acceptable.

If you steal from a locally owned shop? No, please don't do that.

Really, let's see. WalMart steals in a less blatant form. Look at their employees. They pay them barely enough, yet, retain revenue granted in heaps to a few special snowflake heirs.

Corporations steal by creatively maneuvering in ways that are subjectively legal, thanks to their power.

Is stealing always wrong? Perhaps this person is relatively poor?

Robin Hood was he a thief? He took things that were being greedily hoarded by an oppressive regime.

Where do you think those items in WM are made? In Mexico, or China where WM negotiates a contract to get what they can at the cheapest price.

    Really, who is the thief?

...not that I think the person posting this question should shoplift those items. Bad idea! Bad move. Dumb! I mean, it's WM, for crap's sake! Do you want to have to pay huge attorney fees, court fees, and waste your time at that to take a few things from a retail store that likely already offers you the lowest price? Forget the ethics, it's dumb to shoplift. So, don't do it.

Most of the Walmarts in my area have a zero tolerance policy where they have the cops arrest anyone they catch stealing. That tiny tube of glue isn't worth going to jail for. Be careful, OP.

One simple rule, don't steal from friends or family. Other than that steal whatever the fuck you'd like to. Just as long as you don't get caught. If you act suspect they're gonna take a second look at you.

If you steal from a big store yyoure not hurting anyone. Steal from small places and it comes out of their pocket

Stealing is stealing. Does not matter if you feel the item is overpriced it is still wrong. You have two options you either buy it, pay the price or you refuse to buy it and walk out of the shop but to steal anything is wrong. Shops are businesses, they are not there to be your friend, they are there to make money just like any business is so if they can charge more for a product and people still buy it then they will. The best power a customer has is for anyone that thinks an item that is overpriced to refuse to buy it, shops will soon lower prices of products you feel are overpriced if the products suddenly stop selling.

When you steal you are stealing from everyone because it raises prices for all of us who actually purchase. Saying it's a corporation is no justfication. That's why shit is overpriced to begin with, because of people who steal, like you.

I also wanted to ask how you come up with "over priced".

If you think it is then just make some superglue for less than $6 and make a t-shirt for less $25.

In my opinion, theres nothing wrong with stealing from big businesses. Stealing from people and local businesses is fucked up tbh

I agree people shouldn't overprice things, it's unfair but on the other hand a person or even a group of people have worked hard to come up with that product and have worked hard to make it and get it into big shops like Walmart. Sure they may be rich now because of all that hard work but if everyone stole with the same reason as you that wouldn't last long. You shouldn't steal from anyone, including big chain stores because there is still hard working people behind the names. If you don't want to buy things overpriced, buy the cheaper products and think about the work that goes into each product big or small

It's wrong and you shouldn't steal it, but, let's be honest..you're not the only one doing it, especially at wally fart. I don't, but do know a woman who's done it several times. It's wal mart..How good can the stuff you're stealing be to begin with?

I have more of a problem with people who walk out on restaurant or bar bills. That's stealing food, beverage, and the server or bartender's time.

I doesn't matter what you do steal or what you don't steal, either way it's WRONG.
You are still committing an illegal crime that could get you into heaps of trouble. Just think about that....

Yup, it's still wrong. They have a right to price it however they like. If it's unfair, then don't buy it.
