Is it wrong to not want to pay for the prison system?

It cost on average of $30,000 a year to feed, house and clothe one inmate. Why do we accept this? I want to brand or tattoo them and release them back into society. Strip them of their rights to recieve welfare. If they need assistance, fund halfway houses or government work camps like back in the depression. Instead of relying completely on police, offer a reward system for catching criminals. If you catch a murderer in the act, and stop them , the government would pay you $10,000. As the crime varies, so would the reward. I believe this would bring back the idea of civic virtue, and force people to be more responsible to their duty as a community member.
It seems everyone wants to feel secure in their neighborhoods, but no one wants to take responsibility for it. As long as it's not happening to them, they turn the blind eye to it. Freedom has a cost, but everyone wants someone else to do the work. Is that wrong?

    I feel the same way about all the moron women who don't know how to do anything better with their lives besides let some scumbag impregnate them every other year then pop out babies and expect tax payers' money to support her snot nosed little brats.

    Why should tax payers see to it that your mistakes get put through school and college? Why not make all medical care absolutely free so that tax payers are giving their hard earned money away for something that matters, because medicine and surgery is a lot more important that some uneducated girl's many, many failiures.

    No siree, I will not be supporting the idea of feeding and clothing kids on welfare just because the mother was too dumb to use birth control.

    Violent criminals should be put to death, no lengthy death row process, simply taken out the back of the courthouse, shot and then dumped in the trash.

    What always got me was that they (prisoners) get an education, brand new Timberland boots, brand new nice jackets, have cable, blah, blah, blah...while regular working people trying to live a good life, struggle to buy these things for their families. All ya have to do is commit a crime and you can have it all. How is that justice?

    The system is not perfect and it isn't in any country. Here where I lived there is only one prison and once they protested because they were given chicken too often. Yes, I'm serious.

    You are so mean. Why don't you want those who own all those services contracts for the prisons and those that operate the private prisons, to get richer? Do you really want to deprive their children of the right to drive a new car each year? And deprive their wives of those little 2000 pair shoe collections? And me of the job of driving their yacht?
    You are so mean. Think of all those people too dumb to get any other job, that the prison systems employ. And their children and wives. Oh the horror of it all. Your plan would cripple America. Are you anti-American or something? Leave the system alone! It may not work, but a lot of people are spending your part of each 30k on something we taxpayers will never be able to afford, right?
