Is it weird that people are always saying the world is ending

I will be honest I used to be one of those morbid types who wished for the world to end every chance I got but I grew up and got over it.

But there never seems to be a end to those who wish or say the world is ending if anything it's like almost every six months you have someone making the false prediction that the world would end.

The list is long and even goes back before the modern era it's as if people want to either fear monger for money or lower or have general feelings of real doom.

Do people just want it all to end things like the rapture is a good example people rising to a higher existence while the world burns I kinda get it but find if it odd that some people can't grow out of it.

I agree with that while the Islamic ones are dangerous they are mainly just loud and can't really do anything. But the Christian ones actually have power and influence here in the west so yeah they are a little bit more dangerous but bus a little.

I remember when the world was supposed to end in 2012. There were people who went and spent their life savings and are still feeling the pinch from it. Turn the clock further back to December, 1999 and people did the same thing back then. I just couldn't understand why people were so scared. I'm not trying to mock them or anything, btw.

I know right it's super silly that people do the same crap over and over and over.

I was in my senior year in high school in 2012 and I remember all the hysteria everyone knew it was crap at my school and we all joked about it.

And don't get me started on the NWO people who thought Obama was the antichrist who was coming to kill gun owners with the United Nations agenda 21 crap(Alex jones).

Be it the rapture or fema it's always some kind of boogieman that people will use as a pretext for doom.

It's endless funniest thing there are worse things that could kill us all and if it happens there is nothing we could do about it and we will never know when.

Look it up many crazies said that he was 100% antichrist that he wouldn't give up his seat as president and become the ruler of the world through the UN seriously this is what was said.

I think Alex jones said that Obama smelt like sulfur or brimstone he is just one example.

Yes, 😂 is right. I can't believe that people truely believed the world was gonna end due to the end of an ancient Indian calendar made by primitive native Indians thousands of years ago.

I totally agree with you. The world is not gonna end. People said it was gonna end at the turn of 2000 due to the "big global computer shut-down". They said that 9/11 was the start of the end, that within 6 months after 9/11, bombs and explosions of every major landmark throughout America (The Sears tower, Golden gate bridge, The Whitehouse, etc.) until humanity was completely gone (that was one that more people did believe due to the World trade center destruction being such a frightening outrageous event), but none of those other foretold events actually happened. Then, as you mentioned, people thinking the end of the world in 2012, which was due to the end of the ancient Mayan calendar (that one I personally never believed, the world ending due to an ancient Indian calendar?). There were numerous other times throughout history where people feared the end of the world; during almost every major war we went through (Civil war, WW1 and WW2, Vietnam, Gulf war), numerous times where a major asteroid was thought to crash into earth, and even now I've talked to people who believe that ISIS is gonna wipe us all out. I personally believe that most of us are gonna die our own deaths before the human race is wiped out.

Those extremists are the biggest poisons to society, whether Christian or Islamic. They are not normal religious people, they abuse religion and use it as an excuse for their deranged, fucked up activities.

Hey while we are on this subject, does anyone know when the next end of the world is suppose to be or what will cause it?

Historically, the biggest "ends of the world" come about every 8 years. so that would be 2020 but from what?

Does anyone know anything more solid?

Conspiracy nuts are well.....nuts! It seems they all have their own pet theory on how and when the world will end. They get "evidence" to prove their theory and a few people actually believe them. 2012 was really crazy. The fact was the Myans simply ran out of room. I thought it was hilarious!!

It's funny when they set dates and they don't happen like apparently one of my friends told me that some conspiracy nuts said a civil war was supposed to happen on the Fourth of July.

Apparently the liberal Marxists were supposed to try and over throw the government which would lead to martial law and the new world order.

And yet it didn't happen and you have the same crowd setting up another date.

Just false prophets trying to make a buck. Wishful thinking. The world is going to last much longer than anyone alive today.

Oh yes, they keep finding crap in the bible or some other "unshakable" evidence that the world will end soon. Raptures, floods, comet, world war 3, bullshit found in the desert, strange calendars...

During the 80's we thought the USA and USSR would start a nuclear war and wipe out the planet. Oh yes, MUCH propaganda.

I remember specifically "the end" was going to be in 1984 (for those born too late to remember 1984 that year was as big as Y2K)

Also, look this up - a book called "88 reasons the rapture will be in 1988." And there was another book the next year called "89 reason the rapture will be in 1989". It didn't sell as well. I wonder why.

I remember 1992 and 1993 were two big years. Holy shit in 1991 they talked about it non-stop.

    1999, 2000, 2001, May 21st 2011, dec 2012,

The only thing that could easily end the world would be if social medial vanished. At that point all the millenials would go on killing/suicide sprees and eliminate the human population.

Not all millenials, just the white men...and they're already doing that.

I don't get it plenty of non whites(like myself) only know this world and are reliant on technology. How are they doing it? Don't tell me your a black nationalist or Hispanic nationalist or whatever because like the white nationalists it's dumb to think that a whole race is jus set one way.

To me, it's all bullshit. The only time the end of the world seemed slightly believable to me was right after 9/11, because 2 planes flying right into the World trade center killing thousands and another plane at the same time flying right into the Pentagon was the most crazy, intense event I ever remember.

well you do not have to bore yourself with them, I was just pointing out the fact that they exist. the 88 prediction failed and ONE year later, same prediction made.

In a nutshell, they thought the rapture would be close to the year 2000. That was the root of many other false predictions.
