Is it weird that i want my bedroom to look like a kids room?

I've always loved the way kids rooms/preschool classrooms are decorated. I think I mostly just like the colors and how happy everything feels. I want my room to be the same way. My childhood wasn't the best so I don't know why I'd want to relive that part of my life. Or maybe that's exactly why I like the vibe- or maybe it's not that deep and I'm just tired. Is this too weird to actually do?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I want a complete bed set of Barney the purple dinosaur. Makes me feel like I am magically living in a prehistoric age.

I would think it depends on your age.

And sex. I think females have a bit more leeway when it comes to bright colors and stuffed animals. Also if you are married or not. Because your bf or gf might not take a childish room as well as you do. If you are married it's already sorted.

Its within a spectrum of normality. If a guy has a room like a 6 yo girl I'm thinking hes a pedo.

Very true. Women have so much more give and take and room to be creative and experiment with almost any aspect in life. Guys cannot really walk down a sidewalk wearing bra and panties and maybe a dress without the locals crucifying him for being creative and trying to experiment. So myself, I keep it at home or under my guy clothes.

Yeah but people hate ugly people since the dawn of time. And wearing a dress, some people can not pull it off. As a guy that silently judges those who drag openly in public (if it's a bar or something doing drag night whateves) being "creative" (guy wearing a dress ain't that creative) is offputting because it's beyond the normal spectrum of behavior.

Every person has a gut instinct and drag/trans sets off the "weird, possibly deranged" sense which according to the mental health studies of said persons isnt that far off the mark.

I secretly want a bunk bed, but those things don't come in queen size. I really like Lord beds.

It depends if you mean just painting the walls a bright colour and having some cartoonish art and a few soft toys or if you literally want an alphabet on the walls and toddler toys.

If it’s the former go for it.

Nothing wrong with it. However, if you're going to do a complete overhaul of a room make sure you're absolutely positive that it's what you really want otherwise it's just wasted time and money.

I like primary colors. Those are very common in a children's room.
