Is it normal to want to work and get it?

Since my industrial behaviour I wanted to work and got the job at Woolworths pushing trollies all day, it's not rocket science, you just need to know how to push many trollies at once repeatedly all day in varying degrees as constantly directed by your boss who's third in charge. It felt to me like slavery, drudgery but my next work will be much more passionate without both of us getting fired, I'm lucky the boss was nice enough to pay me $200 cash on the end of the day. I got paid on the first day, hard to believe! I got fired on the second day because I was pissing the boss off and he got fired, no he's not happy, I don't know what he's going to do to let it go, leave it behind him, with a better work environment, it taught me the lesson to only want a job if I have a passion for a specific job and to shut up when the boss offers it to me, is that normal? Furthermore I want a better job where I love my job, I want to either work in an industry or go to school lecturing about philosophy, it's up to me, I might get it, be careful what you want, normal?
