Is it normal to talk to yourself?

I talk to myself a lot and I want to know if it's normal. A lot of times when I do this I pace back and forth in a circle, not unlike an animal in a zoo, and my dad thinks I'm weird for this so I want to prove to him that it's normal!

I mean if it isn't then that sucks but heck

I don't talk to myself out loud, but I do hear my own voice talking in my head sometimes.

Its not normal to let ppl see you. Im a truck driver and ill be listening to music and without realizing sometimes ill start having a conversation with myself. Im always paranoid im gonna accidentally call someone and theyre gonna ask me who im talking to

I do this. Often times, I will have arguments with myself by pretending that I'm voicing someone else's opinion, and then I'll argue against it. I feel like I never get any privacy, because I'm always arguing with someone in my head. The pacing back and forth thing, as well as walking in circles, is something I do. Sometimes I drum on things or slap my knees repeatedly while I talk to myself.

Normal to talk to yourself but just don't get into an argument.

Can't lose an argument if you're the only one arguing

Actually, talking to yourself and pacing is a great way to put your issues at an objective distance. You're fine.

Everytime i learn something new, i try to explain it to myself, as if in my head a person just asked me to explain it to them.
