Is it normal to only feel safe admitting you're enby to other nonbinaries?

There are a few exceptions but generally I don't really like admitting it unless they bring it up first. I've had the inverse happen several times...boys admitting they were nonbinary after I brought it up so it makes me wonder if it's common for enbies (especially male identifying ones) to hide it?

I get why I made the mistake of admitting it to the wrong person and they treat me like shit now. Honestly makes me kind of sad knowing I used to do the same shit to boys who used HRT before eventually accepting using it myself.

Is It Normal?

  • Yes because very few people believe your special gender identity is real..

          • Yes there are lol. Men do not and cannot breastfeed. That is a huge physiological difference no matter how aesthetically close their moobs are to actual female boobs.

  • Dont tell ppl you are non binary. 90% of the population is gonna think you are crazy and you are very likely gonna grow out of this and regret doing it later. Its social suicide and even when you are 60 people will remember it and joke about it.

In the real world all these iut there gender woke ppl have to stay in their own small bubble because people think theyre nuts and dont want to be around them. You gotta accept the reality of the situation.

  • Yes it's normal. Society hates anyone different. The key is just not giving a damn. I have no problem saying I'm bisexual to people.

If you have a problem with the way I was born go fuck yourself you're just a bad person. End of. Anyone has a problem with the way you are cut them out of your life. They don't deserve you.

    • Agreed with this. Unless you're worried about violent retaliation, just say it. If it's important to you, there's no such thing as telling the wrong person. Be yourself.

    • I just don't tend to tell people honestly. It isn't really most people's business that I'm not entirely cis but it does feel nice to actually be able to confide in someone without judgement or sometimes worse confused pressuring. But telling the wrong person does suck. I guess i'm just lucky i'm comfortable being treated like a boy even if i'm not comfortable being masculine. Some people don't feel comfortable either way oof.

  • There's definitely people besides other enbies that you can tell, but I'd agree to keep it to myself. I'm enby too and I am out to most of the people who know me and it hasn't caused me any trouble but this of course depends on where you live, who you interact with and what their beliefs are.

  • Isn't a male identifying Enby an oxymoron???

    • The pronouns they chose tend to reflect their chosen identity. Even if a boy were to basically look like a woman they can still hold their male identity. Nonbinary is literally just not adhering to norms related to gender; Most people who de-transition end up becoming nonbinary because of how hard it is to fit back in after HRT.

    • Not really. They tend to prefer to be more feminine or androgynous. I prefer to be treated as boys are so I never really went full fem but I'm not really comfortable being masculine.
