Is it normal to imagine pictures of people who do not exist?

Hey Somenormie here,

So lately I've been dreaming about people who don't exist almost like if my mind is mindlessly generating those images of people, sometimes I think to myself are those people real or am I living inside of some sort of an AI generated like world where it creates those photos of these non existent people?

The example I have in my imagination are mainly photos of men, women, boys and girls who don't exist.

I heard years ago that the human mind can't actually create new faces, but that the strangers in your dreams are actually people you've crossed paths with at some point, even if it was passing them on the street. Perhaps they could also be people whose faces you've seen online or on TV, signs, etc.

It sounds like you have been experiencing some unusual and thought-provoking dreams lately. The idea that the people in your dreams may not be real, and that your mind is generating them, can be an interesting concept to explore. It's not uncommon for our minds to create images of people or places that we have never seen before, as our mind is constantly processing and organizing information from our daily experiences.

It's possible that the images of people you are dreaming about are symbolic representations of certain aspects of yourself or your life. Dreaming about people, whether real or imagined, can often be interpreted as a reflection of our inner thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

It's also possible that you may be experiencing a form of lucid dreaming, in which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming and has some control over the dream's content.

yes, I also dream about people who don't exist. And no they are not real people, sometimes they are completely fictional characters that I have made up, and I have never seen such people in real life ever. As contrary to the statement that "the brain can't create faces that are original." I believe that to be completely untrue, I have even seen Gustav in my dreams, and he is a sentient tornado with a kawaii face that I made up. I have also dreamed that I was in an anime and that the other characters and the setting were literally 2d anime that I was in, and I also dreamt that I was Michael Jackson when I was a kid, I dreamt that I literally WAS him.

Interesting, unless I've stumbled across someone who looks very similar to the one I'm dreaming about.

I just think it's kind of ridiculous to assume that the brain is incapable of thinking of an original face
