Is it normal to her zits like this?

I’m 39 year old male who is clean with clear skin. Every so often I develop a very painful pimple that takes month to heal and one time took over a year on my face or jaw. When I get them they are extremely hard and are not raised up much. They are very solid to the touch and when squeezed they never pop but just leak clear oil. I even sliced them open and lanced them with a needle to try and drain them but that doesn’t help. I used all the over the counter rubs and that doest help. Are these normal? What causes them and any advice on a remedy?

Perhaps a dermatologist could help you? They might have some medicated creams you can use.

You have to wait until they're ready to pop. If you do it too soon you'll just make it huge and it wont ever pop.

I just never heard of ones like these that are so big and take so long to heal

It could be cystic acne. I've gotten those often over the past couple years. For me,TreeActiv Cystic Acne Spot Treatment works to reduce the size and make it go away. It's $25 so not cheap but a little goes a long way.

They could be sebaceous cysts. Ask your doctor.

Can’t really afford to go to a doctor. That’s the problem.

Wait till they form into a whitehead, then pop them. Trying to forcibly pop them leads to scarring.

Stop squeezing on pimples they havent grown out yet, that's when you can pop it. As for the clear fluid that's just the remnants of white blood cells that were fighting the underlying bacteria and some water. Just wash your face often and stay away from greasy food.
