Is it normal to have autism?

Hello everyone, I don't know if I've told anyone on this website but I have ASD, which is high functioning. I don't know if this is normal, the reason I ask this is because people think it isn't normal.

Yeah it's pretty common. I have aspergers myself and I know several people with autistic traits that would probably have it if they bothered to get checked for it which isn't really necessary unless there's any support you need, and not all autistic people need support because the scale is very wide.
So i'd say it's rather normal but far from everyone makes it public that they are autistic although more and more people do which I personally think is great as it smashes the stereotype of how an autistic person should be and shows that we are individuals like anyone else.

If it were normal it wouldn’t be a named thing to begin with. But it is common, and totally manageable

That's not true. You can have rarer cases mixed in with other debilitating conditions to make it worse but under the guise of something else.

I was pegged as being autistic when in actuality I had klienfelters, soon as that got taken care of I am just like the rest of you. Bar the sterility.

I mean yeah if there is a name for it it's at least known, but it doesnt mean it's normal. I knew of a person who would randomly shift allergies monthly, apples one month, dairy another. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen as a condition. She died in a motorcycle accident, probably because she suddenly became allergic to leather... jk I'm a terrible person, it was another driver in a semi but such as life.

What a person dying inside (or should I say like 30ft away) a motorcycle? Pretty common way to go out car crash wise.

1 in 54 to 59 people are autistic out of the 7 billion people on the planet, trust me you’re normal (and this is coming from someone who is autistic). It’s natural variation in neurology that’s existed as long as humans have. We’d still be living in caves if autistic traits didn’t exist. Anyone voting “no” on this post is statistically and scientifically incorrect.
