Is it normal to have a deathly fear of caterpillars?

Everyone thinks I'm crazy for this, but they are seriously my worst fear.

I can tolerate the little tiny brown ones, but I don't particularly like to touch them.. now what I can't stand is the big ones with patterns and shit on them.

I hate the way the hunch their back up really high and do that squirming thing.. I'm feeling uneasy just imagining it.

I hate the really weird colored ones with patterns on them.

I hate the soft-looking fuzzy ones.

And I HATEHATEHATE ones with spikes oon them *shudders*

It gets the the point where I've had nighmares about them.. in one, there was a giant caterpillar at the top of the stairs with this huge horn on it's head like a unicorn that was hopping around and then jumped on my back.. my heart started beating so fast that i woke up.

And in another, this group of caterpillars formed into two stacks facing each other, and then slapped against each other until they looked like this; X kinda. and then the pile started to wobble, and they all fell on me and the top few went into my mouth. And again, I was so scared that I woke up right away.

I know it sounds funny, and I guess it is kinda funny. But I just feel so weird about this.. cause I feel like most people think they're gross but they aren't actually terrified of them. I think they look like repulsive aliens and they look evil and disgusting and just... ugh. Does ANYONE feel the same way?

    This same shit happens to me! Except it's those catipilars and possems and taccona which I'm deathly afraid of but all jump on me and crawl all over my shit! And it's so scary I wake up.

    Actually, The Human Caterpillar would be an excellent movie for you (if you want to shit your pants). It'll probably take your fear away from actual caterpillars and make you afraid of surgeons instead.

    There's a movie called the human caterpillar, about a crazy surgeon. Don't watch it ok. But your normal alot of people are scared of spiders you hate caterpillers no worries

      Fuckkkkkkkkkk NO! Its called the human centipede and its lame as hell. Ive seen movies which are much more gorier, and the human centipede is NOTHING at all compared to them, -___-

    Lol I was helping my dad in the yard and I saw this giant hairy caterpillar and I screamed. I wasn't afraid of it, it just startled me xD
    But you're normal. Everyone has their fears. I used to be afraid of anime characters and now I love anime xD
    Everyone thinks I'm weird because I can't watch scary movies. My parents don't care, I just can't handle them.

    I have the same fear and its horrible i was just outside working in the flower bed (haven't seen one all year) and bam!! Theres one I freaked out and ran my oldest daughter didn't realize just how terrified i am of them she picked it up and chased me with it I liked her out of the house thank fully my oldest child saved me once i went into a asthma and panic attack crying hysterically

    I love caterpillars, but centipedes scare the fuck out of me. When I was like 3 there was an 8 inch long fucker who chilled in my bathroom... Moved so fast I could never catch it. And I hatehatehate silverfish or whatever they're called, the little ones with all the legs that come up your sink... Haha. Them and jellyfish are the only critters that really scare me xD

    It's a phobia. Completely normal! I have arachnophobia and scream whenever I see even a cartoon spider. Never know why. U should look up the official name for a phobia of catterpillsrs

    Well, if it makes you feel any better I am scared of this weird fungus that is growing my yard. It looks like this:

    I'm not scared as in I have a panic attack or anything but they do freak me out a little bit. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the caterpillars too much but if it starts to seriously interfere with your life than maybe you could try and do something about it :)
