Is it normal to hate the sound of a phone ringing

It drives me absolutely insane if a phone rings more than 2 or 3 times. My cell phone is always on vibrate and when I'm at home I always jump up immediately to answer the phone just to make the ringing stop

    I turn mine off.
    It's not like anyone calls me anyway.

    I am the same way. Makes it even worse when you work at a call centre!
