Is it normal to hate cats and punish them for acting out

So my family has 4 cats, we've had up to 7 in the house at once. I've come to hate them more and more over the years. What makes it worse is my family doesn't seem to want to discipline them at all. When the cats meow, my mom and brother meow back at them to try and get them to keep doing it. The cats chew on electronics cords. I've had to replace 2 headsets and 2 keyboards because they chewed through the cords and they wouldn't work any more. Other people have had their stuff ruined like that too and no one seems to care. Like, there's no negative reinforcement at all. No spray them with a water squirter or whatever. The one cat tries to come in my room all the time and sit/lay down right up close to me. I push and move the cat away but it continually comes back. So finally I carry the cat by his tail out of my room and shut the door, which sucks because that makes my room get hot. One cat is the fucking worst. He taunts like he's going to grab one of my slippers in my room and take it but whenever I go to stop him he runs away like a bitch. The same cat came in my room one time and sprayed piss, marking its territory or something. Idk but it was fucking disgusting. He ran but I chased him down this time, held him by the tail in the bath tub and pissed all over the little shit, see how he likes it. Parents made me give him a bath after but it was worth it, especially since the thing hated getting washed.

Am I normal here? I mean I feel like I'm the only one in the family who wants to do something about unacceptable behavior and try and train the cats and punish negative behavior. My hatred of them grows by the day now, and I make plans on how to punish them in the future. So far I've thought of blowing airhorn any time one tries to sleep, sticking its head under the water spout in the shower, putting it outside for the night (they'd be in no danger the yard is fenced in), or take its food/water away. These would all be done of course immediately after a cat performs negative behavior. I don't know what else to do. Otherwise I'm going to start having fantasies about beating the shit out of them and I don't want to do that.

    Carrying a cat by its tail -- WTF?! That's part of its vertebral column. Would you want someone carrying you by your head?

    You have serious issues you need to deal with. Pissing on the poor thing won't do anything at all. Taking kts food or water away won't do anything. Never carry them by their tail. You are inguring them. You need to be locked up you nasty Bastard. You cats need to get taken away to get good homes. And you need to either go to a therapist or be locked up. You are such a fucking waste of space and air.

    Cats for the most part are annoying to have around, especially the ones that couldnt care less about you the owner being home or not. I know people that have cats that they barely ever see or the cat runs away whenever it is approached, they can't even take it to the vet because they can't even get near it lol.

    cats are usually independent creatures, don't your cats go outside or are they indoor only? punishing your cats severely wont make them behave, it'll just make them terrified of you and refuse to go near you ever again.

    i do suggest stopping their bad habits however, such as chewing on wires, as it may be a pain for you but it is also potentially dangerous for the cat who coukd get electricueted.

    sit down with your family and tell them to react negatively when they chew on wires, a stern no and a light smack on the bum usually deters them, but your entire family has to do this because otherwise it wont work. if your family still refuses tell them that the wires are dangerous and can kill a cat.

    i don't agree with the other things you've stated, especially the part about holding a cat by the tail. it can cause serious damage to them, and it can lead to fractures or broken tails.

    i understand that not everyone is a cat lover, but that doesn't mean you have the right to torture or harm an animal. they basically have the minds of young children, they can't think like you. as the more intelligent being you should understand this and refrain from lashing out.

      A spray bottle is a good way to train a cat if you have it in hand while they are in the act but don't hold its head under the faucet.. would you like it if your parents held your head under a faucet when you did something they didn't like! All your doing is making them afraid of water and not teaching them not to perform the unpleasant behavior! A good wack will scare them off from it too but remember cats are only around 10 lbs. so if you do decide to wack their backside make sure it's not extremely to rough.. never grab them by the tail either.. all you will do is cause the cat to not like you and may start to lash back! They don't understand what they are doing is unacceptable and they certainly don't speak fluent sentences.. they may learn words here and there like a dog but they can't understand don't chew on the wires! You gotta keep on them if you catch them you gotta choose something like spraying them with water to get them to understand if I do this I'm gonna get sprayed!

    You sound like a really messed up kid. I am honestly afraid of the adult you'll become. Your reactions are seriously not normal.
    Ask your parents to get those cats spayed or neutered. After they are fixed they will usually not spray in the house. Your solution of peeing on the cat is psychotic.
    As for the chewing, get one of those cable organizers and cover your cords with them.
    Your cats are just acting like normal cats. Stop reacting violently and just keep your room and belongings closed off to them until you can move out. As someone mentioned, a spray bottle of water works well to keep them away. It's not good for you or the cats for you to continue being this way.

    My cat is so lovable and thank God he doesn't display any of those behaviors but he will steal a piece of chicken if left unattended which he did the other day but then again it could have been my dog.. but they will get a whooping when I do catch either of them in the act of doing something they shouldn't be doing. Of course according to their weight.. but he knows when I'm mad at him cause he will hide out but just like my kids they get over it and come back to snuggle eventually.. My cat is an indoor cat and when he snuck outside in the past he would find his way back and would be afraid to come in because he knew he was in trouble and knew he was gonna get it and of course he would go hide afterwards for awhile! But they know when I'm mad because I will continually remind them of what they didnt and that its bad and how mad I am at them so that they remember and don't think that it's acceptable behavior! However on another note, for anyone who says cats are dirty and dogs are clean, that is the furthest thing from the truth.. I own both and the dog brings in so much filth from going outside just to relieve herself.. I'm constantly cleaning.. I some times ask myself what the hell I was thinking getting a dog.. she is so gross too eats anything and everything like twigs, pebbles, dirt even caught her eating burnt fire wood once she even will eat her own poop too, and will drink dirty puddles if she sees one.. Sge eats a 4 heaping cups of dog food a day which is more than is recommended for her age and weight so you can't say I don't feed her other wise she wouldn't have gained 7 lbs in this last 6 weeks from her second set of shots.. I kniw she is only a puppy but my goodness.. My cat doesn't do that and plus he cleans himself most of the time that he's awake.. Dogs hardly ever clean themselves! Maybe their genitals and paws but no where as often as a cat will!
