Is it normal to get an extreme physical response to sudden bursts of anger?

I live with two roommates. One of them is kinda crazy, the other is a dear friend but can still drive me crazy sometimes. Today I went out to talk to them and the one I like was obviously in a foul mood, which spread to myself. Then the other one tried to delegate tasks to me which I have no responsibility to take care of (as he so often does, he thinks he owns the place) and it got me really upset. I retreated back into my room but it was too late. My body was already reacting. I get high pulse, extreme stress and anxiety, and have a really hard time calming down. Eventually it goes away as I try to focus on other stuff, and then I feel completely exhausted, like I just came back from a long and tough cardio session at the gym. Does this bodily uncontrollable reaction happen to other people?

I believe what you are feeling is the adrenaline in your body, and the fight, or flight response. This roommate person is triggering you, and causing you to have panic attacks.

Is that a panic attack? I have been in contact with a psychiatrist who suggested I may have GAD. I get a similar response from other things (school/work related stress etc.), but I thought panic attacks would have an even more severe reaction?

Sounds like it, or like an anxiety attack.

Ive gotten that a few times always when whiskey is involved and im getting into a fist fight. To tell you the truth I kind of like it. After you get in a fight and win its like some primal feeling like you're high on testosterone or something.

I've never fought anyone physically but I can sort of understand the pleasurable part. I think it's better to take it out in the gym or similar though. Violence is bad y'all!

I know I sound likr a douchebag with this story but one time I fought this dude at a party and absolutely tore through him and KOed him after I body slammed him and then ground and pounded and I jumped up and was screaming at his friends like "YALL WANT THIS TOO!? ILL KNOCK OUT EVERYONE AT THIS FUCKIN HOUSE ONE BY ONE!! WITH ONE FUCKIN PUNCH!!" Was totally wigging the fuck out on adrenaline.

I calmed down later and thought holy shit what was wrong with me its like I was possessed. But I felt like in that moment I could have stopped a coal train with one hand. But in reality the chances of me knocking out the whole house is near 0.

You must confront the problems and the individuals. It is not healthy to let it get bottled up.
