Is it normal to be pro wall

Conservative here, now that the proposition for the wall is up in air about how it’s going to get built any options on why to be against the wall and arguments that rely on facts and not "because it’s a mean thing to do". I believe a wall is important because it’s a security issue to not know where people are coming from and they arnt being vetted though. I have no qualms about LEGAL immigrants just that they do the paperwork like everybody else who want to get in.

The vast majority of undocumented immigrants come legally and overstay their visas.

There are technologically superior and more cost effective ways of tracking and intercepting people who illegally come over the border than a gigantic wall.

Not only is a wall less effective for that, it has major downsides that other solutions don't. The land must be seized from private property owners by eminent domain. A lot of wildlife migrates back and forth over the border, a lot of species will suffer or go extinct if it is closed off.

The wall isn't about solving immigration concerns. It's basically a monument to xenophobia and stroking Trump's ego. Is that normal?

Your comments about migratory wildlife are the only things that have made me doubt the wall. Wild animals deserve to have the freedom to come, and go. People, not so much.

    • There is superior track ability and it’s called chipping but I perfer people just just leave when their visas expire. You know like a law abiding citizen. It doesn’t give me any comfort that if you want to come to America the first thing you do is break the law. Coming to America isn’t a human right. The wall is also to prevent easy drug supply lines, anything to stem the opioid crisis.

Drugs will still find ways in The black market is vast and a wall won't stop it.

Try looking at the pharmaceutical Corprations they are more powerful then the drug cartels and a major part of the problem.

    1. The current debate is about not losing his stupid voter base.
REMEMBER, "MEXICO WILL PAY FOR IT."
    What happened to that?
    Now its, taxpayers pay.
Or Ill shut down the govt.
    2. If walls are a great idea, why did Chinas great wall, ultimatly fail?
Why did the Ultimate conservative God R. Reagan say ( tear down this wall! )
    3. Security issue, being vetted.
    Do yourself a favor.
Turn of faux news, Rush, Hannity etc.
go out and meet and work with some immigrants.
Youre buying into some B.S. and

    A wall works both ways.

That's easy to say when first world nations own and dictate what third world nations do.

I'm not just pointing the finger at America either.

If any third world nation thought about putting there people first it make the resources first world nations are gorging themselves with more expensive and we would find a way to invade them place in a puppet that falls in line with our interests.

Agian I'm not saying it's just America that dose this.

It's easy to see why people want to move to a place were they have better opportunities.

        • I only care about Americans and our allies second there’s a hierarchical order of me giving a shit. I don’t have enough heart to give to everyone in the world so why not just care about my country? I wish Mexico was a first world country, I also wish that Honduras didn’t have the highest murder rate in the world. But at the end of the day what do you want the US to do? We aren’t getting involved in their government. But invasion of their land is on the table for making it a japan 2.0.

That's what lead to the issues we face now.

What your sayings that we return to colonialism repeating the past will lead to the same out come.

The natives of said countries won't like an invading force why is it ok for first world nations to preach nationalism and putting a home country first do you get what I'm saying.

Japan isn't a paradise trust me when I say this.

How about first world nations stop dictating who gets to be leader and who doesn't in foreign lands.

If a third world nation wishes to have its own systems of policies then first world nations should back off.

Let them build themselves up stop letting intelligence agency's screw things up most people agree that the CIA and things like the kgb have destroyed plenty of nations.

I'm not saying third world nations should have a handout they need to lift themselves up then you wouldn't have to worry about migrants having to come in droves.

First off, the USA had a lot to do with creating the regions instability.

Im not saying free open border.
But, this is a huge country.
We have so much, we pay farmers to not plant.
We send Billions EACH YEAR to jews overseas.
I see nothing wrong with accepting some fresh migrants.

Second we don’t have unlimited resources it’s better to give them to citizens than to other countries homeless.
Third there is a city in Mexico that forbits all politicians and mobsters they are run by a local militia hell its like a sovereign town there.
Fourth I am a male with the willingness to join hand in hand with my fellow compatriots for our country. Something that these countries lack, full blood patriotism for the homeland.
Fifth American idealism is the singlehandedly the most vital resource in America we are the best and even if we are wrong we don’t give a shit.

2 problems with physical barriers. 1- they eventually can be breached, no matter how well constructed. People have loads of time to figure ways around obstacles. 2-even physical barriers need some sort of monitoring system to determine if they have been breached, and security forces with the ability to respond QUICKLY to identify and correct the breach.

Im not saying some physical barriers are not needed in some places, but ANYONE who believes you place 20 foot tall steel barrier across the border and now everyone is now safe and secure are morons. You need a more comprehensive program than just a wall if you want a secure border, and that is real fact.

See the bigger problem is that the President made dumb ass promises that spoke to people emotionally, rather than intelligently and has people all riled up. Democtats are just against it because he is for it (whether its a good idea or not). Republicans are for it because their next elections money is on the line. And who is getting screwed, the people?

Is our country better right now in this moment without funding for all operations? Right now it is still fresh and fun. But wait until tax refund checks cant get mailed. If you are a city or area with a national park, money will slow your local economy as well.

I dont normally post on politics because it is a no win argument. If we had Government leaders truly fixated on doing what was good for the country and not their political party and the next election we would not be in the place we are right now. But thats not reality at all. Our elected leaders, regardless of political affiliatiion, are mindless douchebags, only doind what they need to do at a minimum to keep their jobs. Im sure everyone has worked with people like this in their everyday jobs and HATED them? Why do we find this as a admirable trait for politicians.

One last thing, they are still getting their paycheck every 2 weeks for doing absolutely fucking nothing. I have friends still working and not getting paid. Imagine your boss withholding paychecks because he is in a fight with the board of directors, or shareholders. Its not right.

Stop those ILLEGAL LAW BREAKERS one way or another. We have enough problems here of our own. These ILLEGALS are eating up funds that should be for the elderly, the disabled, our homeless veterans and those in REAL NEED. If they want to come here LEGALLY fine. Not break laws to get in. I've traveled to many countries and none are as lax as these idiots in Congress running this Country.....BUILD THE WALL or find more permanent ways to stop those ILLEGAL TRESPASSERS on our soil. IF they have problems in their countries the young men coming here should stay and fight rather be cowards are INVADE our land.
Most of these ILLEGALS are not asylum seekers they are INVADERS and this is an ACT OF WAR and an ACT OF AGGRESSION and should be treated as such. I'm sorry to hurt the feelings of all you "bleeding hearts" out there but the TRUTH HURTS.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of static from this post but our servicemen fought for our Country to keep you and I safe and so should these ILLEGALS stay and fight for their country instead of running like cowards. My husband fought for this Country and didn't run away to another country under the falsehood of political asylum. He stayed to protect loved ones from danger.

Sorry but I just can't "sugarcoat" things.

basically if you were born an immigrant you would think differently, and you could have easily been born in another country. i know the drug cartels are horrible, but at the same time, the reason why people get into drugs is because of money. mexico is poor and people want a life with food. america can be someones saving grace. it should not be denied.

        • They aren't all bad but to allow the wolf in the sheeps pen is usually a bad idea. Not all are bad but a sorting process should be the default solution. Republicans have no problem with LEGAL immigration.

          Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I'm definitely with Trump when it comes to immigration. No matter what deceptive or just made up statistics the liberals want to use, it is simply not asking too much when we Americans expect for immigrants to go through the processes to be in America legally. Can WE go into another country without due process? No. There is not a country which will let me just prance across their borders and take up root as I please. Why do they think that they can do this in our country?

A few notes on immigration from third world to first World nations:

The crime rate goes up exostentially, particularly rape of lighter skinned women and murder, not to mention drug crimes.

The rate of drug arrests goes up.

People who are indigenous to an area almost always begin to move away.

Property values tend to decline sharply in areas where illegals congregate.

More burden is put on the local governments and infrastructure; lots of new people who aren't documented, so the local government doesn't get the full federal and state funds needed to keep things like waste water treatment and road maintenance funded the way that's needed. 20% more people on a town means 20% more money needed to keep things like these running and in good repair.

I could go on, but I think you see what I'm sayin at this point.

Look, I know the panty waist liberals are going to start shouting racist pig at me at this point. But before you do that, let me tell you a couple more things: 1) my WORK visa was declined twice because I didn't have $10,000 in my account and I couldn't prove the previous existence of a $1000 positive monthly income prior to moving to Mexico, as not to "burden the Mexican welfare system". I was going to work for a Canadian oil company there. It struck me as so funny that so many mexican illegals are coming over with no ssn, driver license, or without ever having paid a dime in social security tax, Medicaid tax, or tax in general and are getting welfare and food stamps without paying a dime for what that they get. My grandmother lost her father, two uncles, her husband, two brothers, and a son in fighting the Nazis, Japanese, Koreans and Vietnamese and was only given a pittance in her retirement after working her ass to the bone all of her life, never complaining a goddamned bit about it. But let's now hear how illegal immigrants deserve welfare, food stamps, and free housing in your liberal opinion.

One thing I'll say before I go about Trump and his wall is that while I agree with him on immigration, I don't see the point in the wall. Look it up. Most illegal immigrants and drugs are smuggled through the border crossings, not through the middle of the desert. And how hard is it to get through a wall? Can every mile of it be watched 24/7? Not realistic. If you want to stop illegal immigration, then fine the contractors and jail them for hiring illegals. The tail of the snake will soon die.

If they made the process of aquiring a green card easier than what it is right now there wonn't be illigal immigration or need for a wall.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Maybe we should simply position snipers on the border to shoot illegal border crossers on sight. This would discourage others from crossing and the illegal immigrant problem would be solved.

    • What migrates in the south? Animal wise? I thought most of the south was cattle farms and desert. If there is an animal that wants to cross too bad politics are kind of high up on intellectual thought. Plus the wall is most likely just going to be 20 foot poles in the ground to make it easier to identify those on the other side something like a cyote (the animal) can slip in without a problem such as other small animals. And obviously bird aren’t going to be impeded.
