Is it normal to be in depression for 11 months?!

I just can't seem to get out! Every since the begining of the year, I've been trying to get a grip and have had a few periods of happiness but more misery than happiness. During thus time, ive lost my job, have few to no freinds, little money. is it normal to be in depression this long?

Yeah, you haven't even been going for a year? What a loser. You're even bad at being depressed. I've been going for 8 years straight!

It's normal in that it happens to a lot of people BUT it's not normal in that it is a legit problem.

Take care of yourself just like you would if this was a physical condition - reach out, consult professionals, and forgive yourself for needing rest. Depression is natural; however, that doesn't mean that anyone should be expected to handle it by themself.

Best thing to do is get medication and a psychologist as it can help. Also, maybe even more importantly, get rid of the people and activities in your life that are bringing you down.

not even a full year? for some people it lasts much much longer than that. but if it seriously concerns you, then maybe think about going on meds.
