Anyone who judges you for your nationality is a fucktard and their opinion means shit.

People get so caught up with the thought of stereotypes that they jump to conclusions before even knowing the person i.e im 1/3 asian and im not super smart, i dont eat only with chopsticks and my vision is as good as anyone elses (NO SQUINTY EYES)

I know what you mean, I get embarrassed by our country's ignorance and how smart and hard working we think we are.

If you weren't a snob youd realize it doesn't matter where your from It's who YOU are that matters.

And if you traveled abroad youd also realize most people dont care where your from. So no real reason to be embarrassed.

Beside the French of course, but they just snobby pansy douches.

I know what you mean. I usually only feel that way, though, if someone from America acts stupid on the internet, or if events happen such as Miley Cyrus performing at the VMAs because I just think about how some other countries think that all Americans are stupid.

Oh my stars, not all Americans are fat! I see a very small amount of fat people when I go out in public. America doesn't even have the greatest percentage of fat people, that would be Mexico. I hate how people make jokes about Americans being fat. :P

Well only if that's exactly what you are. If not, then there's no reason to be embarrassed about it. Go to another country and prove them wrong. Not everyone is the same.

It's not just America that is "fat profit driven fake society" - such tendencies are all over the world (I'm from Europe).

I'm American born. Moved to Poland and lived there a while. While there I visited countries all over Europe.

I'm talking from personal experiences lol...

Now I'm back I'm the states. People like the OP disgust me so I apologize for the brashness of my response but I do stand by it

You sound American, Dan. I can only tell because of your arrogant tone. :)

Yes, it's normal. Yes, people will judge and make assumptions about you abroad. And the French have a far better international image as a culture and as tourists than Americans, but you've clearly never been. (Why do you think Americans are banned from entering over 20 countries? Youve a horrid rep)

I don't know if there's something keeping you from leaving, but there's always the option of picking up a dualnationality (if you're eligible) or dropping your American citizenship entirely.
Otherwise, pretend you aren't American, don't introduce yourself as American and no one who doesn't know you will have grounds to judge you.

And YOU have clearly never been to America, so your argument is invalid.
