Is it normal to be a germanophile?

I always liked German culture, my brother Ashley is also a bit of a Germanophile. I like the music, we had German feasts, went to Hahndorf to try a German-style hotdog. The coffee I tried there was a Vienna coffee, also called a kapuziner (an Austrian cappuccino, that's hot coffee with whipped cream on the top). Even the sausage rolls with sausages in them (I tried a chilli cheese one) are sold in a cafe in Hahndorf. I'm not sure if it's German but it's better than a similar sausage roll called a Vili Dog. The result of our Germanophilia is that we have hamburger patties, Kranskis and sauerkraut. I even have German coffee called Melitta Blue Mountain Style. I like German electro music (Kraftwerk), and even the O-Bahn (in Australia they're not allowed to call it an Autobahn), I even think of being German when I'm in for a joke about my crazy accent (Italian, like in the cartoons), my favourite German food is, of course, the Black Forest cake, originally from the Black Forest, Germany. I noticed the Romans were also copying the Germans, I like the Yiddish culture (which is anti-German), but I like Neanderthals better (you guessed it, they're German!), is any of this normal?

Is It Normal?

  • It's smart nowadays, I read an article last year about how you can catch Scabies on a door handle.

  • It is normal to me.
8 years ago, I made a stupid vow about getting a German/American guy(because the biggest ancestry group in US is... If not mistaken, Deutsche Mann)

      • Maybe because you call random European guys on the internet ugly and idiotic before even knowing them?

        • 1. Deustche Mann can't be ugly or idiotic.
          2. When I call someone ugly and/or idiotic over the internet, it's almost 100% about what they said or did.
          3. I do not need to get to know a jerk better before commenting about a him. Leave it to the turdologist, I have better things to do.

          • So you are saying that you know when a person is ugly just by chatting on iin. Ok, that makes sense. Healthy mentality. Keep it up.

  • Well, according to Hitler, the First Reich was the Holy Roman Empire. So you do have a connection to Germany. It is understandable.

    • Assuming that this isn't a joke, what does Hitler have to do with any of this?

      • Well it is understandable you are confused due to your lack of reading comprehension, the OP being Italian (having an Italian accent) has a historical association between Italy and Germany. You might try opening a history book once in a while.

        • I have a diploma in history...the point was that Hitler has nothing to do with this. There are lots of people interested in other cultures (eg. European girls into Japanese culture) and this has nothing to do with history

          • I beg to differ. But having a diploma, by the way, is no measure of intelligence. It only shows that you had the ability to complete the requirements for a course. However, the close association between Italy and Germany goes way back. Hitler only pointed it out as being the First Reich of his Third Reich concept based on that association. But I am tired of trying to duel with you. You lack any ammunition. And trolls bore me.
