Is it normal that this bump on my head keeps comming back

okay, i am really concerned about this bump behind my ear on my scalp. Well its not really on my scalp, it feels like its underneath. Every once in a while it appears, its small probably the size of a pea? but if i touch it alot it gets bigger. It only hurts when i touch it ,and ive been having this bump on my head issue for about 3 years! it litterly comes and goes, and it only goes away if i dont touch it. Someone said it was from stress but idk.. can it be somthing more serious? And NO I DONT THINK ITS A PIMPLE! Pimples dnt come and go on the same spot for 3 years. I need some answers, is it normal??

I would go to a dermatologist (especially because it is painful). It sounds like a cyst, or a calcium deposit. But only a doctor can give you a diagnosis.

    • A tumor wouldn't come and go lol. Just get bigger and bigger.

Well, then it could be many things. It could be a inflamed lymph node or something else. If she got a scan then they may be able to get a clearer picture. The fact that the OP has had it for about three years is very worrisome.

        • It could be bad yes, but usually bumps that have been present for years and haven't made you sick or cause any problems are just bumps that people sometimes get. There are many harmless conditions that cause a weird bump on your body that just stays there. But yeah still go to the doctor, i rekon it's nothing though, If it were a tumor i think after a couple of years you'd be getting some pretty severe side effects like epic headaches, vomiting, dying, that sort of thing!

Doctors even say that most people overreact and think they've got cancer when they find a lump, but it rarely is.

thank you :) but somtimes i even get them in the middle of my head too. Or it appears right behind my ear. I should just go get it checked out.

I have it too. Everyone has glands behind their ears on the soft part under their scalp. Sometimes mine comes and goes too.

Sounds like a sebaceous cyst to me. They can come and go. It's basically a blocked oil gland. But see the doc to be sure.

Is it right behind your ear, like almost touching it? Is it really hard? Do you have pierced ears? If yes for all three of these, I used to get that from time to time as well.

If no to any one of those, see a doctor!

I used to have something kind of like that every time I stretched my ear lobes. Apart from that I have no idea what it could be, and I would have it checked out!

I don't think there are any doctors on this website.
I think it would do you some good to pay a visit to a free clinic if you don't have health insurance.
