Is it normal that some junk foods triggers my emotional eating?

BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTS: I am in no way orthorexic.

Anytime certain junk foods like ice cream, burgers, fries and other ones come near me it triggers my emotional eating. I get emotional so easy that I will use either of them to emotionally eat.

Is it normal?

What exactly do you mean by emotionally eat? Eating comfort foods when you're down in an effort to treat yourself, or just binge eating food that makes your mind go "I need that"?

I'm not sure what could cause intense emotion *before* eating a specific food, but do know that foods can have an affect on your mood. Whole foods tend to to have a positive effect on one's mood, while processed foods tend to have a negative effect. I can tell this myself when I eat one or the other. I always feel better both mentally and physically after eating whole foods, and tend to feel crummy after eating junk.

Yeah. Sounds more like binge eating disorder. My trigger foods are sour candy and chips.

Not normal. Never eat that crap if you're overweight. Burgers and fries and ice cream is for fit people.

      It's for whomever buys it.

I agree you let people make their own decisions but as a society we must instill the luxury of having opposing viewpoints so the man/woman in question might be able to reach a reasonable conclusion regarding their weight.

And if one side of the spectrum is reassuring everyone they are beautiful despite the lard on their ass then it is good to have another side explain to the people that they are freakin hideous and need to lose the weight. I like to be that reasonable voice on the right side of their shoulder whispering in their ear. Because whether you agree with me or not if everyone listened to me it would be a better world.

Oh I'm not saying you cant judge them. Just saying that you can do what you want.

          Those are two seperate issues.

There needs to be some accountability though. Maybe you have to step on a scale when checking out at the grocery store. And a fat alarm goes off if all your food items are junk food. Then you have to defend yourself to all the on lookers laughing and u must lie about how its for a party and you'll eat none of it.

We need something to discourage it we gotta change culture. Worst thing is to tell them theyre beautiful and its ok.

Counter argument. Just act like a regular judgy human. Its zero costs, no forcing anyone to do anything. Just let people be people. If they are already killing themselves let them.

I dont believe in going the extra mile with fat people. If they dont want to change it's a them problem. Avert your eyes if you want.

Fuck I dont even think buisnesses should require handicap access tf you think I give a shit about not allowing people to get crap food?

People will self limit. Either by their own admittance or by their death of their lack of self control.

I mean junk food is just our body (who's not used to having easy accessible food) yelling that it's free high calories.

You cant really ditch those feelings as you have no way to turn off your instinctual drive to go after food of higher calorie counts. The instincts are to keep you from not starving after all. For most of us it's just will power that staves it off.

I wont lie. If I see some junk food that REALLY looks good it's hard to move to the healthier option. Your mind will try to flood you with excuses "oh but I havent eaten today and this will be it" or "I can burn it off later". But you got to power through that, find a high protien alternative and that feeling should go away after eating.

For me my savior is hard boiled eggs. High in protein, enough fat to keep me motivated, and in my opinion very tasty.

On my diet I ate a lot of baked chicken. Its high in protein while being low in calories, fat, and cholesterol and with the right spices tastes way better than junk food.

I'm not one for food quality. As I was raised without the concept of spices apparently.

Eggs are perfect, good texture, can be spiced however you want, and can be cooked in like a hundred different ways. But I'm a basic bitch and I like just plain hardboiled eggs.

Hard boiled eggs are great if you pickle them in soy sauce or brine with onions but by themselves they are a bit plain for my liking.

I'm not a fan of pickling them. Bland is fine, with a pinch of salt.

Orthorexic? Do you mean ANOREXIC? And it really does sound like you have anorexia. You should go see a therapist about this.

No it's not anorexia you moron. Orthorexia is the obsession with eating healthy food.

How is that relevant to the definition of words that you clearly didnt look up on a dictionary before making a fool out of yourself?
