Is it normal that my spouse puts his emotional support animals before me?

MY husband grew up with a father who treated his cat better than any of his household members. He is emotionally distant from his wife and his sons. My husband has an intense love for his pet dogs, but he always puts them before me in every situation.

I often find people with emotional support animals annoying. They try to take these animals everywhere meanwhile these animals are NOT considered actual service dogs under the ADA, they're not trained the way an actual service dog is, and they just shit everywhere and bark a lot. XD

Agreed. A lot of people where I live take advantage of the ESA thing just as an excuse to bring their pets to places they otherwise wouldn't be allowed to. I even see them in supermarkets, which I thought was a health code violation or something along those lines since they sell food.

There have also been "ESAs" and fake service dogs that have attacked real service dogs, causing them to be so fearful they aren't the same afterwards and costing the disabled person $$$ because service dogs and their training aren't cheap by any means. It's infuriating!

I've also heard of (though not personally seen, thankfully) people having emotional support PIGS and other odd types of animals. WTF? Who would bring a freaking PIG everywhere they go? The smell alone would be atrocious, and I can't imagine many public places allowing farm animals in their stores.

The animals are less able to take care of themselves than you are.

If it were me I would put people first then pets.

To me it's a logical to put people first before pets because pets doesn't really register as being too important.

Animals are more important than humans. Animals don't talk back or argue or insult you or make you feel worthless or less than human.
