Is it normal that my palm hurts when my feeling get hurt?

I have had this thing happened whenever I am deeply hurt emotionally. I only feel it when something has stuck straight to my heart. I have had it my entire life. I am extremely sensitive. I have always wore my emotions on my sleeves. I very in touch with my emotions. When this happens it usually shows me that I really love or care about something more than I thought I did. It happens in both palms. It stay for awhile. Eventually it does go away. But when it occurs it feelings like a gentle sharp needle through my palm. I cry very softly as well. This completely wears me out. Emotional & physically. It is nice to know I am not the only one. Wow.

I have the same feeling. I experience my fingers aching when someone hurts my feelings. I find it so odd, when I ask people if they experience the same, they look at me like i'm crazy.

Have you ever looked into any reflexology charts? I know this is a little different type of healing, but it may have an answer for you. I know that an area near where you're describing supposedly has connections to the stomach. Thus, you may have nervous anxiety and most people get a 'heart in the pit of the stomach feeling' and you may be getting a corresponding hand pain.

So it's been a year I'm back to check the thread. Still no updates on what it is. It's such a small amount of us it seems, but still enough that it can't just be a coincidence. I wish we could have a study done on this. Maybe a doctor will find it one day and do one. Anyways hope you are all doing well!

I have the same thing...but more like what BreakThePeace described. When I'm in love, It's almost like waves of pain are breaking throughout my body. It starts in my heart and travels to my hands and sometimes through my body. It seems to go inwards and outwards at the same time. It's the worst pain I can think of, and it's embarrassing when I start to cry and I'm unable to really explain why. No one has ever understood, so I just hide it now. I have a really hard time letting anyone get close to me. I'd love to know that I'm not alone, so I'll just give my contact info if I can...brainonfire at hotmail dot com. I just want to know that I'm not the only one who feels these things...I feel pretty hopeless. I actually feel like I'm cursed.

So there is a lot of us ... But no one knows why.

I get this too when my feelings are hurt. It's my left wrist and feels like me veins hurt. They say the reason why your left finger is your wedding finger is because you have a vein in your left finger that is connected to your heart. maybe that is why and we are just very sensitive and caring people. Heartbreak is a real thing and sometimes my heart sinks when I feel this way.

I am so glad to know I am not crazy pants! Trying to explain to someone the extent to which you were hurt by saying "it made my hand throb" means nothing to most people.

Without fail, my hand throbs when my heart "hurts" -like that heart pang/hurt feelings kind of moment. I don't know how else to explain it. I've always figured there had to be a biological explanation for it and that I couldn't be making this up in my mind. I finally decided to google it, and alas, I know I'm not alone!

It's great to find that a lot of people have the same thing. I have anxiety problems that lead into low self-esteem problems. When someone doesn't answer me I tend to think that they dislike me and I can't understand why. Then it accumulates on top of other similar feeling I have throughout the day or throughout my life and I get this strong feeling that nobody gives me a chance and that's when I get that pain on my left wrist.

Gosh! It also happens to me. When someone hurts my feelings, my index and ring finger in my right hand hurts.

I get the same symptoms in my left palm, whenever a person i like cheats on me
10 years now.
How can i make it stop? Id rather not know it

I have such bad hand aches it keeps me up at night, and if it’s really bad I feel it in my feet as well. I’m so glad I found others who go through the same thing as me and that I’m not alone or weird for this happening to me

i have experienced this my whole life...until last spring. i started taking a medication called lamotrigine, and in addition to helping regulate my moods and significantly helping my functionality in day to day life, i stopped experiencing the hand feeling. its been so long i almost forgot about it. a lot of people in here say theyve been checking back for months or years, so i thought id offer this clue. does anyone else take this medication?

Maybe I am even more sensitive than the people in the comments? I get this too but not just when I feel hurt but when I get butterflies/dokidoki feeling (idk how to describe it because it doesn't feel like butterflies). I get the ache/squeezing feeling in the joints of my hands when I'm hurt emotionally + the dokidoki feeling is the same type of pain but on my hands as well as on my lower stomach and embarrassingly... Down there too... For example if I become rlly attached to a character in a romance series and they get hurt or smth romantic happens my hands ache sm aswell as that... But when I'm feeling depressed or i suppress my emotions, my heart aches and my palms squeeze. I don't cry as much and I've trained my brain to stop crying even if it hurts which isn't great... Icl I think I need therapy. But maybe the pain from crying disperses to those areas?

Hey checking back on here, so I want everyone to know that I told my girlfriend about these pains in my palm, told her how it comes on and how it works with what you have to think like not good enough and next thing you know about 10 minutes later we had a argument I sat away from her then couple minutes later she was saying"ow ow ow" I said what is it? She said it's that tingling pain she got it in her hand for the first time in her life she was shocked, I was happy she felt my pains lol.and she is 35. So I'm wondering if this is teachable like people can learn it or only some people 🤔

I'm glad I found this site, I recently became depressed by how things are going in our house, simply put, I suffer from anxiety and depression. Whenever I feel sad, anxious, and nervous, my left palm feels tingly, and it hurts in a different way. I have to clench it until it calms down. Hi I've been checking up on this thread for years now trying to see if anybody has come up with an explanation. Anyways I figured it was about time I make a comment myself. I get this feeling in my heart and in my wrists. It is very painful I get it mostly in my left wrist, but if the feeling is really strong my right wrist will also hurt. It is always coupled with the same pain in my heart, however sometimes I feel the pain in my heart but not my wrists. It happens to me when I think of loosing someone I really care about or like when someone I care or love hurts me. I have also gotten this pain when I have have feelings romantically for someone who does not feel the same or I simply will never be able to be with. There is a lot of love in the pain though. I know that I truely care about someone if they can cause this to happen. I am a very sensitive person all around. I feel like I feel other emotions in places too. Like love is in my chest but it also kind of hurts a little but good hurt. Lust is in my upper abdomen it doesn't hurt though just feels like too much emotions at once in one centralized place. It's weird to think people don't physically feel their emotions.

Hello I get this feeling allot, I thought I am alone and thought I was crazy. It's a really lonely feeling 😞 been trying to find someone who has this same experience. It happens in my right palm and it's a weird sensation mostly if I'm sad or think about getting hurt in the past. If I tighten my fist really hard it kinda helps but it's still there. I know this thread is very old but as I was googling I came across it and can't help but comment. All my life when something has deeply touched me emotionally, good or bad, the muscle/space between my thumb and index finger aches or throbs, and often I cry. The comments under this are the closest I've found to anyone else experiencing something similar.

After I found the explanation in this link I use the pain as a signal to ground myself and stroke the tops of my legs. It can be annoying but mind and body are so connected that we must pay attention to signals. Aren't we the lucky ones to have this ability :)

I've had this for as long as I can remember. It wasnt as strong when I was younger. The only time I really feel it now is if my husband hurts my feelings. Mine is my whole left arm gets a stinging numbing feeling from my palm all the way up to my shoulder.. we have been together since we were teens and he is defiantly my soulmate, I take it personally because I love him so much and I guess my feelings for him run deep... idk it's just hard to explain. But I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've been wondering this for years, I've never thought it was a health issue because it only happens if my feelings get hurt.

Definitely not the crucifixion syndrome. I only get this pain if I think about losing loved ones or breaking up with my boyfriend or hurting someone or someone hurts me. Both palms, right in the base near the thumb. I call it hurty hands and my friends don't understand it. But now it's a way of telling my friends how much I like a guy, if I get hurty hands they know it's serious.

It happens to me and my 10 yr old son as well. I think it's because of the vein that runs from your heart to your left hand to your ring finger(so I've heard) thats the reason you wear your wedding band on your left hand on your ring finger. It makes sense to me.

I was just researching this, Each time I remember that something I went through, I get a severe itch in my left palm, like I almost need to punch it hard and it's still not enough, a piercing pain actually....it's good to know I'm not the only one..is it an energetic spot maybe? like something associated with the meridian channels and acupuncture therapy and all this?
and when I think about it even if such therapies exist...what's the use of the treatment when you already suffered a hideous spiritual/emotional disease...where's the substance and moral of the whole thing? at the end, when something "good" finally happens, you'll want to forget, move on, live as if that shitty thing never happened, only with the conception of "hey I was not lucky enough and now it's over"...such an ironic existence..lol so here I am venting out on a web I just got introduced to..and yup I get the throbbing itching feeling in my wrists as well...not to overlook that feeling of a burning incision in my chest..but my palm? today is the day I noticed and remembered that it's not the first time, it;s weird

It happened to me too, though i feel pain body-wide, in my hands, lips and neck. It's like emotional pain so intense that is becomes physical pain. I have no idea why it's felt in the hands though, might be because there are millions of nerve endings in your fingers, making them one of the most sensitive parts of your body. The intensity of the emotional pain might not be normal. I'd ask a doctor about it if it were to bother me often.

That's weird beacuse the same thing happens to me but on the vains of my wrist. I get a throbbing pain on both of my wrists after getting my feelings hurt real bad.
