Is it normal that my friend likes to collect knives?

I need to specify that not only does he like knives, but everything that has a blade. He is a normal guy, although he is kind of sad sometimes, and often doesn’t speak a lot. I just hope he doesn’t do some dumb sh** such as ending his own life or killing somebody (I know I am going too far with my thoughts but I really care for him, since he has been my first actual friend).

    When he gets sad, make sure he knows that you're there for him. Talk to him, maybe you can tell him about those thoughts that you have. Or maybe he just gets sad like all people do but he just really likes knives and loves to collect them and there's no correlation between the two.

    I had an ex boyfriend who was really really into knives. He must have had like over 20.

    He was a mechanic. He liked all tools and working on stuff. But he was an ok guy, he wasn't mean or anything. He never threatened anyone with knives. So I think it's normal

    I have a friend who collects knives & swords. It's the ones who collect anime dolls that weird me out...
