Is it normal that my ex bf constantly talks about his new girl friend?

My ex wants to be my friend, but I think I should just block him. He talks about himself and his new girl friend too much.

You don’t have to be friends with your ex if you don’t want to. Send him a message saying you wish him the best but don’t want to talk anymore. You owe him nothing.

Sometimes exes can be friends but a lot of the time it’s just too odd.

Umm it's normal for someone to be excited about their new partner. Maybe he wants to make the boundries clear too and if so you can tell him you already get that you guys are friends and he doesn't have to worry about you thinking anything else. Then again he's your ex so it's a tricky situation and a bit disrespectful of him to constantly talk about his girlfriend at least if he's the one who dumped you. There's zero reason to stay friends with an ex unless there's kids involved, and you don't even need to be friends then. Don't block him though just tell him you don't think it's going to work out being friends and wish him well then cut ties. If he gets upset over that you can block him.

Yeah just block him. He's probably trying to play childish games.

You don't need that type of friend. He should know that you don't talk about and your new g/f to your old one.

Most people like to talk about their new BF or GF to others. Totally normal.

But, perhaps a bit inappropriate in your case due to your past relationship and how it ended.

I have managed to stay on good terms with almost all of my "ex's" and I was happy to hear that they had found a new relationship.

Though it's possible for exes to be friends, it doesn't sound like you're too keen on it, and it also sounds as if he may be just trying to rub his new relationship in your face, and who cares to stick around for that kind of childishness?

Ultimately, it's up to you whether or not you want to block/cut ties with him, but I personally wouldn't waste any more time on anyone I didn't feel was a positive influence in my life.
