Is it normal that i think facebook sucks dick?

My mom does that, and as a kid, I was posted a lot on Facebook. I hate that she did that. I feel it was a breach of my privacy.

I dont wanna sound cocky and self absorbed, but if I ever go famous, I'd plead with her to delete it.

Normal. I mostly use it as a way to keep in touch with some family and friends who live far away and I don't get to see very often (and everyone seems to be more active on social media than on their phones), and might share a few things a year, usually cute videos of my pets or something like that. Otherwise, I've found myself spending less and less time on there with it pretty much becoming a bitchfest and full of political arguments that I am just completely sick of hearing about. I swear, some of the people on there just scroll through their feeds looking for a fight and live for that crap, but to me it seems miserable.

I also find the oversharing to be a bit concerning as well. One thing I never understood was how Facebook has a "check in" feature. Seems like a really good way to notify others that you aren't home so there's an opportunity to break in. Even if not, why is it important that others know your location and what you're doing at any given time? Also, some people seem to treat Facebook as a personal diary and put some very TMI and personal stuff on there, including some very awkward arguments between couples, exes, family members, etc. Then there's just stuff like, "who cares?" Like, the silly trend with people taking pictures of their Starbucks cups, typing something like "I'm going to the bathroom", etc. Why?

I never got into social media.

I was busy learning random shit on the internet. That and watching porn. So I had zero care to update to the world what I am doing.

Screw Facebook. I wish I didn't have it. I only keep it for messenger which I use more than my actual phone service.

People still use Facebook???
Most people I know only update their profile picture once in a while and share something sometimes, maybe makes an update if something major has happened in their life but otherwise, like myself, most people seem to only have it out of habit and for Messenger which is my personal favorite app for communication.
Facebook has good features like groups and Marketplace though.

Don't pay any attention to those people. Too many people take Facebook way too seriously. It's good that you're not one of them.
