Is it normal that i see my pet caterpillar as a companion?

I see my pet caterpillar as a companion ever since my mother gave the caterpillar to me as a pet, the more I kept her in my room the more I start growing attached to her.

I know some people might think that I'm weird for keeping a caterpillar as a pet but it's something about her that makes me feel attached to her that makes me to become her insect companion.

It was sorta the same feeling like how I got attached to my pet cat who is deceased.

Is it normal to feel this way?

    I hope you turn into a beautiful butterfly or moth yourself someday... at least inside your mind (even if you look human).

    Don’t let your bearded lizard thing get near it. He’ll eat it and then sulk at you for hours.

      Hopefully when she comes out of her cocoon she'll be one, one with nice patterns.

    It's normal, although you should let her go when she turns into a butterfly.

      I've been thinking about letting her go for a bit, if decisions change I will let her go.

      I've had her around early February and now she's a cocoon.
