Is it normal that i hate people who dress like slobs?

It really just drives me up the wall when I see people wearing stained sweats with dirty sneakers and unkempt hair. I understand that everyone's appearance is their own business, but wow! People who have no pride in their appearance really irk me.

Is it really so hard to replace your ugly flip flops with some cheap, nicer looking sandals? Is it hard to at least wipe down your sneakers and straighten them out before wearing them?

I put a lot of effort into my appearance (diet, good quality/stylish clothes and shoes, haircut and dye every month, full makeup, extensive skincare routine) and I by no means expect everyone to do this but.....is it difficult to look presentable?

I have similar distaste for people with full make-up and extensive skin care routines... Like they'd probably be the kind of judgemental fucker who'd judge me simply by my scruffiness.

How can I respect someone who doesn't even respect themselves enough to practice basic hygiene?

And I hate people just like you way to focused on your looks and your a judgy stuck up bitch. Maybe focus on your own life instead of others.

I agree, I judge people too

It's not like we're saying that everyone has to look like a model, and wear the most expensive designer clothes at all times. I grew up in a poorer neighbourhood, where people didn't necessarily have the money to be on that level of fleek, but we still tried! Ugh

Just have some standards. Don't be going out in some baggy dowdy tracksuit having clearly not showered for a week, that's disgusting.

Exactly!! I don't expect anyone to do as much as I do, because even I can admit that I'm vain and I probably do too much but I don't understand not taking just a little bit of pride in one's appearance. It's not asking a lot to at least use a bit of dry shampoo.

I think it's normal to hold other people to your standards, or at least to some level just below your own. There is more to be said about, but to keep it short: Your opinion of how you and other people should, and to what extent, care about their appearance may or may not change over your life, and there is nothing wrong with wanting people to see things the way you do.

I feel so bad for your sacrifice of grooming yourself intensively. Sorry from the rest of us who dont have that kind of free time.

I'm a double major in mechanical engineering and product design, I am an officer on two large RSOs, and I also have a research position. What free time?

Sorry that you're not great with time management!

Some people feel like the ideals they have come under attack as if the person's way of dtressing is symbolic of their ideas of goodnough. Like people who say they don't believe in god and the people who get triggered by it, but in this clothing and hygiene sense nothing has to be said for OP to be triggered in the same sense of clash of her values vs theirs.

You would hate me on my way home from work. Been a while since I've gone home with kid puke on me though, at least.

Well lower class people project their own class standing (and standards) through their own self presentation. Sometimes people also choose an occupation based on what they'll never experience. Reality wise.

Is that why you're a low paid rent boy?

        Sex isn't love, cupcake.

Hate is a very strong emotion to be feeling about something that's none of your business

Everyone has a right to his or her opinion, but having said that just remember opinions are like assholes, everyone's got em...

You must live in a trashy, low-income neighborhood. The only place I've ever seen people like that was in a Wal-Mart in Alabama when I was passing through on a road trip.
