Is it normal that i get uncomfortable around socks?

It's like a borderline phobia. I'm not terrified of them but god if I just think about socks it just gets under my skin. It's like they are designed to be disgusting filth sponges. You wear them to absorb your foot filth while inside your shoes so that your shoes don't get gross. And for that that's fine. I'll wear them no problem and I don't mind other people wearing them. It's just when people leave them on when taking their shoes off that it gets to me.

Because of their design, they just track filth while walking around the house in them. Ever see a pair of socks are you wear them and before you wash them? The bottom is more often than not covered in filth. That's why some are designed with the grey bottoms.

With my previous partners, I'd request that they not wear their socks in bed or while cuddling or what have you. The second we'd get intimate, either the shoes stay on or the socks go with them. It doesn't consume my life or anything, but god it just gets under my skin.

    I kind of have a small phobia of feet. They're really gross, smelly and ugly so I say please keep them covered with socks. Is that more normal? Probably not.

    I don't think this is normal. If someone takes their shoes and socks off and walks around in your house, now they're shedding their skin cells and sweat directly into your home, so how does that help, compared to them leaving the socks on? Also if you're this obsessed with the "filth" created by someone's feet, I hate to tell you what their scalp, armpits and the rest of their body is doing. It kinda seems like you haven't come to terms with the fact that humans are gross cell-shedding meatsacks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    That's not the purpose of socks. The purpose of socks is to prevent blisters on one's feet.

    This is normal. It sounds like a minor irritant that doesn't rule your life. However don't your feet get cold in the winter?

      I usually have the place temperature controlled. Otherwise they do but I can bundle them up in my covers. Though my feet being cold doesn't bother me that much because I'm used to it unless it's exceptionally cold.
