Is it normal my ear is numb?

Okay, So, I was on vacation in Florida, and it was the best time ever! But, When I was driving all the way back up to where I live, My right ear went numb!
My mother told me it was fine and I most likely just slept on my right ear. It has been pretty much three hours since it was numb, And it still is.
I don't know if I should seek medical help, or just wait and see what happens.
BY THE WAY, It's not inside my ear, It's on the outside of it. I tried to see if I could un-numb it or try to see if I could feel anything what-so-ever , I gently put an ice cube on the outside of my ear, and I can admit I DID indeed feel the ice. But, When I touch it with my finger, I can't really feel anything.
PLEASE RESPOND. Thankyou. :)

    OKAY!
    My right ear is normal.. I can feel it now :)
    The doctor told me it was most likely because of how the ear stopped it's circulation when I was laying down in the car.

    So I'm happy now and I can finally move on to other things I need to do haha. ^^;

    don't cool it down! it makes the blood circulation slower, which makes it even more numb! warm it up. maybe it will get better. if not, search for medical help.

      I did warm it up before I went to bed.
      The next day [which is today, 4-25-11] And it is still numb!
      So, I guess I'll have to go and see my doctor to see what's wrong.... Thanks for the help though, everyone. :)

    I just felt both ears and both have dull sensations. I'd say its normal.
