Is it normal i want to avoid strangers when walking outdoors?

And especially when the place is otherwise desolate, it somehow matters less when its a public place that is crowded in general. I just dont want to walk near anyone and walked to the other side of the road to avoid them not long ago, but its not exactly like I'm scared of them either, but maybe mildly uncomfortable. Its not about covid.

I feel that way quite often. When I'm in nature, I prefer to have no external distractions to enhance my connection and having people around kinda breaks or lessens that connection for me.

As a misanthrope, I vote perfectly normal.

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

In this day and age, I don’t blame you one bit.

Somedays when I go to the gym I really dont want to even acknowledge people there. I just want to ignore everyone but it's rude so I say hi. Sometimes it takes too much energy to say hi so I never like to get in the habit with someone where we say hi everytime we see eachother.

I just avoid eye contact with and if they lock eyes on me I would quickly look away.
